VIDEO: Why Ewoks and Alcohol Don’t Mix
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Talk Shows, NBC, Video,
If the Today show producers ever decided to replace Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb for an extra hour of this every day, I might actually start watching.
On today’s Halloween-themed broadcast, we all - even die-hard Stars Wars fans - learned a few new facts about those creatures called Ewoks.
- They don’t know crap about decoupage.
- They love drinking vodka in the morning.
- They know how to moonwalk.
- They will kick each other in front of the cameras, even before you even say “Action.”
- They will hump anything…whether it be Al Roker‘s leg or the ground.

UPDATE: Richard’s sister and attorney claim the arrest was a result of him doing the interview.
Richard Hatch is having a very interesting day.
Early Tuesday morning, Hatch’s interview with Matt Lauer - the one where he claimed homosexuality was a factor in his wrongful conviction - aired on the Today show. Hours later, the Survivor winner was once again behind bars.
Richard, who recently served nearly four years in prison on tax evasion charges, had been under house arrest at his sister’s home in Newport, R.I. Although he was due to be released from home confinement on Oct. 7, he was picked up by authorities today for reasons undisclosed by federal authorities.

Eight months ago, who knew David Letterman would see himself in this position? Back in October, John McCain did his best to make amends after famously snubbing the host for the economic crisis. Now it’s David who’s trying to keep the peace…with Sarah Palin.
On Tuesday’s broadcast, Letterman cracked more than a few jokes abut the Alaskan governor’s visit to New York. In addition to comparing Palin’s look to a “slutty fight attendant” (you can see his Top 10 after the jump), he also made references to one of Sarah’s children. Which daughter he was commenting about is part of the issue at hand.

Video: The Cosby Show Cast Reunites on The Today Show
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Comedy, Talk Shows, NBC,
The Cosby Show was a groundbreaking sitcom that hit the airwaves in 1984, spearheaded by the legendary Bill Cosby. There is so much that can be said about The Cosy Show, which was on the air for eight seasons, ending in 1992, but we will leave it to the cast. 25 years after the show hit the air, a large portion of the cast got together on The Today Show to reminisce about memories, moments, and history. We’ve embedded all three segments here, one above and two after the break. If you grew up on The Cosby Show, then you’ll appreciate these clips. If you came into this world a bit too late to get into it, check them out—you’ll soon realize that there is definitely something missing from television these days that The Cosby Show provided.
The Cosby Show 25th Anniversary Commemorative DVD set is available now.

Tom Cruise and Matt Lauer Reunite on the Today Show
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: NBC, Video,
Oh what three years and a change in public perception can do to an actor.
Back in June 2005, Tom Cruise’s press tour for War of the Worlds turned into a war of words between the actor and Matt Lauer. During a memorable appearance on the Today show, Cruise got into a fairly heated discussion about psychiatry (“pseudo-science”), antidepressants (“There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance”) and his critics (“I have never worried, Matt, about what other people think and what other people say.”) Tom also brought the underused word “glib” to everyone’s attention.

Tim Russert’s Son Speaks About His Father
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: NBC, News,
Earlier this morning, Luke Russert took time out to talk with Matt Lauer about his his dad. Tim Russert, former host of NBC’s Meet the Press, passed away just two days before Father’s Day.
The 22-year-old, who recently graduated from Boston College, demonstrated great poise and spoke articulately about his parent and friend. I’m sure somewhere out there Tim was feeling quite proud.

- Cavemen (6.9 million, 2.7/8) was on par with last week’s numbers; Carpoolers (6.9 million, 2.7/7) was slightly down.
