Full House Remake an Empty Promise

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, ABC, Gossip, Rumors,

Full HouseFor those who squealed at recent rumors that the Tanners will be returning in a “semi-remake,” the next news might be tough.

An unnamed source has said that “we couldn’t make the deal.” According to gossip, (a.k.a. Uncle Jesse) himself was pitching the idea, but the source claims “it’s completely dead right now.”

That doesn’t sound too hopeful. Full House was a successful family-themed sitcom which currently resides in cable syndication. The series originally ran on ABC from 1987 to 1995, and launched the careers of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, the (who jointly portrayed youngest daughter Michelle Tanner).

But don’t give up just yet. According to the mysterious source, called an “insider,” the show “could happen in the future.” So could Soylent Green - but no one’s investing in it.

Anthony Edwards and Angela Bassett in ER

(You can view TV Envy’s Fall Television Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY (11/10)
  • Chuck (NBC, 8pm):  “Chuck chances upon his ex-flame (Jordana Brewster) and embellishes his status in life to impress her.” We’re talking about a girl who starred in D.E.B.S.. He shouldn’t try too hard.
  • Prison Break (FOX, 9pm):  “Gretchen gives Michael the rest of the bird book, but he suffers another seizure after deciphering it.” That pretty much sums up my feelings about bird books as well.
  • Samantha Who? (ABC, 9:30):  “Sam is sentenced to community service, where she meets a troubled young woman () and decides to help turn her life around.” Sam has now become the better-looking version of Earl Hickey.
  • 17 Kids and Counting (TLC, 10pm):  “Jinger takes her driving test; the family celebrates Michelle’s birthday and responds to viewer questions.” Uhh, I have a question. Jinger? Seriously?

Mary-Kate Guest Stars on Samantha Who?

Mary-Kate teams up with Christina Applegate on Samantha Who?It looks as if the troubled half of the Olsen twins is truly back on her feet! Mary-Kate Olsen is returning to television again, guest starring on the ABC comedy Samantha Who?

After her 10 episode stint on Showtime’s hit series Weeds, the former child star is actually becoming an adult in the acting world (need I remind you of those straight-to-DVD movies and New York Minute?). After all, she did just turn 22… it’s about time!

The pint-sized actress plays a character who needs “saving” by Christina Applegate‘s title character. Sources say that although she has only been scheduled for one episode, everyone has been more than happy about her performance. Hopefully she can graduate to real films now!

The episode is scheduled to air this upcoming fall.

Mary-Kate Olsen Officially Enters Emmy Race

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Award Shows, Drama, Showtime, Gossip,

Mary-Kate OlsenShowtime has entered famous twin Mary-Kate Olsen as a nominee for the Emmys, a result of her 10-episode stint on . Olsen is entered in the best guest actress category, which could potentially set her up to run against Lindsay Lohan (scheduled to appear on Ugly Betty) and Britney Spears (How I Met Your Mother).

Submitting an Emmy nominee entry is no laughing matter. Each entry costs a few hundred dollars apiece, proving that has a lot of faith in their young guest actress. So far, neither Britney nor Lindsay have been entered into the race, though popular speculation assumes both will be in the near future.

Olsen appeared in two-thirds of the season’s episodes, portraying a hard-core Christian drug dealer. The role was Mary-Kate’s first major solo effort, as the actress has always routinely worked with sis Ashley. If Olsen is nominated, it will be her second turn at the Emmys. Mary-Kate was nominated, though Ashley was not, for her work on So Little Time. Two rounds of voting will determine whether or not Mary-Kate Olsen wins the nomination - and only then will she be a viable contender for the actual award.

Ashley OlsenTwin sis Mary-Kate has been making movies and taking roles on TV…but what’s up to? The still-blonde twin has been making headlines with her (because although it’s an election year and there’s still an active there seems to be very little to discuss media-wise).

Olsen was spotted at an LA event recently with ex-boyfriend . Reportedly, the pair were holding hands and even making out, but one source says they’re still just friends. What’s a few kisses between exes, right?

Kissin’ Mary-Kate Olsen

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Gossip, Rumors,

Mary-Kate Olsen was recently spotted in a nightclub cozied up to of fame. The pair were seen playing tonsil hockey and looking pretty hot and heavy in a darkened nightclub.  Annable is seven years’ Mary-Kate’s senior, a much smaller age gap than the one in twin sister Ashley Olsen’s alleged romance with cyclist .

Mary-Kate is known for being somewhat reticent with the press and highly protective of her privacy, but apparently that doesn’t extend to making out with hot young stars in a darkened club. Is this the beginning of a new romance for Olsen, or just a passing flirtation? Keep your eyes peeled for the pair in a dark club somewhere near you.

The Story Behind Mary-Kate Olsen’s Frown

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Showtime, Talent, Gossip,

Mary-Kate Olsen  If you’ve ever seen a tabloid photo of and wondered “what’s the deal…is she pissed or something?” – the answer is yes. The 21-year-old twin sat down recently with Entertainment Weekly to talk about the paparazzi, a problem to which all her Hollywood contemporaries (and not a single fan of hers) can relate. Mary-Kate told the magazine she doesn’t want her picture taken, and that it’s only “okay” at the red carpet or during a photo shoot. Olsen covers her face and doesn’t like to smile when her photo gets shot – which accounts for at least some of the tragic pictures of her that have appeared over the years. Mary-Kate’s 10-episode stint on Weeds will begin this month.

More Than Legal: Mary-Kate and Ashley Turn 21

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Talent, Gossip, News,

Olsen Twins turn 21Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen turned 21 Thursday, a milestone birthday for the famous former child stars. Though they still have a huge fan base, much of it springing from the tween and teen set (not to mention a host of men who just love the way they look), the well-known identical twins have been seen less and less in movies and TV and more and more in tabloids. Are they quickly heading down a darkened path of former child stardom, the road many other actors have trod? Not every child actor fades into obscurity – just look at former wild child , who was famous tabloid fodder for drug abuse problems and a score of other antics when she was 19. Today, Barrymore is one of Hollywood’s more bankable stars. Or will Mary-Kate and Ashley end up like the Gabor sisters twenty years from now – older, famous, and still sisters, but no one can remember how they got famous in the first place?
