You really didn’t think Jimmy Kimmel would let Jay Leno have the last word, did ya?
During yesterday’s sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, former/new Tonight Show host Jay Leno addressed a number of topics including the zinger he made about David Letterman, the phone call he hasn’t made to Conan O’Brien and the huge paychecks from NBC he doesn’t even need to cash. He also talked about being embarrassed by Jimmy Kimmel on his own show.

Jay Leno to Sit Down with Oprah Winfrey
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Daytime, Late Night, Talk Shows, NBC, Syndication, Oprah Winfrey Show,
Now that Conan O’Brien’s left NBC, it’s Jay Leno‘s time to warm up the audience.
Later this week, the old/new Tonight Show host will do his first one-on-one interview since Conan’s finale last Friday. Oprah Winfrey, who is a close friend with Jay, flew to Los Angeles to pre-tape the chat.
Although Winfrey’s people have also extended an invitation to O’Brien, it’s not known whether he’ll eventually do his own daytime sit-down.
Leno’s interview is scheduled to air on Thursday.

Thursday Ratings: Bones Bests CSI, Deep End Sinks
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, Talk Shows, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, 30 Rock, Grey’s Anatomy, The Office, Ratings,
Last night’s programming ended with interesting results. Despite non-stop promotions, ABC’s freshman series The Deep End struggled to find an audience with the 18-49s during its hour. Meanwhile, CBS had some good and bad news. On the plus side, repeats of The Big Bang Theory did better than original comedies on NBC. On the negative side, Bones actually beat CSI in the demos.
8pm
- Bones (11.9 million, 3.5/10 in 18-49) had its biggest audience in three years.
- The first episode of The Big Bang Theory (2.1/6) pulled in 6.9 million; a second half hour (2.4/7) rose to 7.5 million
- The Deep End (1.8/5) had 7 million testing out the waters.
- Community (4.7 million, 2.1/6) gave up 700,000.
- Parks and Recreation (4.3 million, 2.0/5) was down 300,000.
- The Vampire Diaries (1.6/4) returned to 3.7 million.

Conan O’Brien Receives Over $30 Million to Leave
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Late Night, Prime Time, Talk Shows, NBC, Gossip, News, Rumors,
Days of haggling have resulted - finally! - with an agreement between Conan O’Brien’s lawyers and NBC.
Although different numbers have been thrown out by the media, it looks like The Tonight Show‘s current host will leave the network with approximately $32 million. That figure does not include a reported $7.5 million severance package to be divided amongst his 200+ staffers and a $4.5 million payout to executive producer Jeff Ross. (It’s unclear how much Andy Richter or Max Weinberg will be compensated.)

Tuesday Ratings: Human Target Tops All Repeats
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Talk Shows, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, American Idol, Scrubs, Ratings,
There’s a few things that can safely be said when it comes to ratings. One: Anything you place against American Idol - especially if it’s a repeat (and there were a lot of those last night) - will lose. Two: Anything you place after the FOX hit will garner a lot of interest. (Case in point: Human Target.)
8pm
- American Idol (26.1 million 9.9/27 in 18-49) was down 3.8 million from last week.
- NCIS* (2.6/7) checked in 14.1 million.
- The Biggest Loser (9.9 million, 4.1/11) piled on 1.8 million more.
- Scrubs* (2.7 million, 0.8/2) did about the same.
- Better Off Ted* (0.6/2) scraped up 2 milion.
- 90210* (800,000, 0.3/1) was up slightly.

Monday Ratings: Another Painful Outing for Heroes
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Action, Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, Talk Shows, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, 24, Heroes, Ratings,
If NBC doesn’t cancel Heroes after the end of this season, it would be the worst decision that network has made since….well, you know. Although some have claimed the show will return next year, the phrase “hit a series low” is constantly used when referencing the program. (Last night was no exception.) Yesterday’s episode even drew less viewers than The Jay Leno Show.
8pm
- A two-hour episode of 24 (3.4/8 in 18-49) averaged 11 million.
- The Bachelor (10.6 million, 3.8/9) did about the same as last week.
- How I Met Your Mother (10.5 million, 4.0/10) picked up 700,000.
- Accidentally on Purpose (9.6 million, 3.5/9) grew by 1.1 million.
- Chuck (6.7 million, 2.5/6) was down by 600,000.
- One Tree Hill (1.1/3) raised 2.2 million.
