Michael Jackson’s Son Lands ‘Entertainment Tonight’ Job

Michael Jackson's son has landed a job as a special correspondent for Entertainment Tonight.
Prince Michael Jackson, 16 - whose father died from acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009 - is hoping the job will lead to a long career in the entertainment industry: "I'm looking to become well-rounded as a producer, director, screenwriter and actor. I've been raised around stuff like this so it was different being the interviewer instead of the one being interviewed."
While Prince's first interview was with James Franco, Zach Braff and director Sam Raimi for their new movie,Oz the Great and Powerful, he is hoping his next one will be with Peter Jackson as he loved to watch the director's movies with his dad. "Peter Jackson, I love his movies. Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and King Kong. I just love the way he shoots [and how] he brings things and depicts it back to life. I used to study his movies with my dad, put the volume off and just watch it, just the shots to see how he put it together," he explained.

Nancy O’Dell Taking Over Mary Hart’s Entertainment Tonight Post
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Talk Shows, Syndication, News,
Although she’s the host of The Insider, it turns out Lara Spencer did not have the inside advantage when it came to Mary Hart’s job.
For months now, it had been speculated that Spencer would take over Mary Hart’s soon-to-be vacant post at Entertainment Tonight. Unfortunately, Lara lost out to another blonde personality: Nancy O’Dell.
O’Dell is, of course, no stranger to entertainment reporting. She previously hosted Access Hollywood alongside Billy Bush.
"I remember watching Entertainment Tonight when it first premiered and dreaming about working for the show someday," O'Dell stated. "I am honored to be the one chosen to fill a TV legend's seat and I hope I can do her proud!"
Nancy will first appear on the ET set in January when she begins correspondent and fill-in anchoring duties. She will then take over the highly-coveted position when Hart signs off at the end of the 2010-11 season.
"Leaving this job was not an easy decision, but knowing I will pass the baton to Nancy O'Dell makes that decision much easier," Hart said. "Nancy is a talented and respected entertainment correspondent. We have spent many years working on opposite sides of the celebrity battlefield, and I know the show will flourish with Nancy as co-anchor."

“It was upsetting. It’s [usually] easy for me to brush stuff off of my shoulder. [But] when I see a pictures [of me] like that, and people are calling me ‘K- Fat,’ I had to do something about it.”
Although he was once known for his marriage to Britney Spears, Kevin Federline started getting attention recently for another matter: his weight. Obama and Biden React to SNL Impersonations
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Video,
So we already know how the McCain camp feels about Saturday Night Live‘s Palin sketches. (Answer: “Sexist.”) We also know what the vice-presidential candidate thought about Tina Fey’s work. (She claimed the first parody was “hilarious,” though she only watched it with the volume off.) But what do the Democrats think of their impersonations?
In a joint interview with Entertainment Tonight, Barack Obama and Joe Biden (alongside their wives) react to the SNL sketches. While they don’t specifically address the content of the spoofs, they do seem to take it all in stride.
The Insider Drops Pat O’Brien…Again
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Syndication, Gossip,
After three strikes, Pat O’Brien is officially out at The Insider.
While no official reason was given for the host’s long overdue exit, many believe Pat was axed yesterday as result of a controversial email. An email that became the topper on the 60-year-old’s troubled history with the entertainment program.
Back in 2005, O’Brien was forced to explain himself on a primetime Dr. Phil after sexually explicit voicemails he recorded were leaked. Then in February of this year, he was readmitted into a treatment facility for problems with alcohol abuse. Although it was believed he would be fired after that second public embarrassment, the former host was allowed to return to his job—but only as a correspondent.

Miley Cyrus: Embarrassed By Vanity Fair Photo Spread
Tween idol and star of Disney’s juggernaut Hannah Montana says she is embarrassed by photos taken for the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair.
In a statement issued Sunday through her publicist 15-year-old Miley Cyrus said, “I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about.”
The spread, shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, included the above photo of a natural looking Cyrus seemingly naked save for a silky sheet. Cyrus’ statement said she thought the photo shoot was supposed to be artistic but after seeing the photos and reading the accompanying story featuring Miley and her father, singer Billy Ray Cyrus, she feels “embarrassed”.

‘Entertainment Tonight’ Pulls Heath Ledger Video
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Syndication, Cancellations, Editorial, News,
Who says public pressure doesn’t work?
Just a few weeks ago, Dr. Phil did an about-face and canceled plans for a Britney-centric show. (He claimed it was an act of consideration for the family.) Now Entertainment Tonight and The Insider are throwing out the word ‘respect’ as the reason for one of their own cancellations.
The two tabloid shows were scheduled to air a video involving Heath Ledger and drugs this Thursday night. The 2006 tape - which was practically aired in its entirety for Wednesday’s promo - showed the actor in the vicinity of drugs (and drug users) at the Chateau Marmont. Although it wasn’t clear if he was taking anything in the teased bits, his audible comments made it clear he wasn’t doing something his girlfriend (Michelle Williams) would approve of. He is also heard talking about their recently-born daughter, Matilda Rose.
Although I have never seen the full video, the shortened version was more than enough. The teaser’s over-the-top narration was extremely salacious, gratuitous and insensitive. I was so bothered by what was shown….and I apparently wasn’t the only one. Late Wednesday, reps for both shows confirmed the sweeps segment had been pulled. Here is a copy of the short statement printed on ET’s website:
“Out of respect for Heath Ledger’s family, “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider” have decided not to run the Heath Ledger video which has been circulating in the world media.”

Britney Spears Out…and Talking to Dr. Phil?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Talk Shows, Syndication, Gossip,
UPDATE: Dr. Phil has now decided against doing a show based on Britney. You can read his statement here.
Despite being placed on what was believed to be a 72-hour hold, Britney Spears was quietly discharged from Cedars-Sinai this morning. Although it is widely believed the troubled star should be forced to seek some type of help, the hospital had no choice but to release her. They couldn’t keep Spears against her will unless they thought she might physically harm herself. (She was not technically considered ‘suicidal’ when she was admitted to begin with.)
But fans concerned for her well-being shouldn’t worry—Dr. Phil McGraw has taken it upon himself to make sure Britney knows people care. The talk show host had a private conversation with the Spears this morning as she was being discharged from the hospital. Here is the exclusive statement he made to Entertainment Tonight:
“My meeting with Britney and some of her family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention. She was released moments before my arrival and was packing when I entered the room. We visited for about an hour before I walked with her to her car. I am very concerned for her.”

Another Death Affects ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Family
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Dancing With The Stars, News,
Another week, another unfortunate story for the participants of Dancing With The Stars.
Early this morning, Marie Osmond’s 90-year-old father, George, passed away. Just last night, Donny Osmond was on Entertainment Tonight talking about a large family reunion scheduled for later this week. Members of the 125-member clan were being flown into Chicago for a special appearance on Oprah. Friday’s episode is now currently up in the air (as is Marie’s attendance on tonight’s DWTS results show).
This news comes one month after Jane Seymour’s mother died in England. Marie Osmond often commented that she and Jane had bonded over this tragedy; Marie lost her own mother, Olive, just three years ago.
Of course, bad news has not been limited to the dancers on the show—several DWTS performers have experienced family emergencies as well. Gloria Estefan cancelled her performance last month after her mother suffered an intestinal rupture. The following week, Jennifer Lopez was forced to adjust her taping schedule when her grandmother passed away.
