Despite its position on a fourth place network, The Biggest Loser somehow manages to buck NBC’s ratings trend. Last night’s finale saw the program’s biggest audience since 2005. The reality show also had its best demos in 2 1/2 years.
8pm
- American Idol (7.7/22 in 18-49) sang to the tune of 21.8 million.
- NCIS (3.3/9) dialed up 15.8 million.
- The Biggest Loser: Couples (4.7/12) averaged 11.8 million over three hours.

Tuesday Ratings: Season Low for 90210
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, American Idol, Dancing With The Stars, Ratings,
Has the update novelty already worn off? Although 90210 helped spawn a reboot of Melrose Place, the teen drama - already renewed for another season - is starting to show signs of weakness. Yesterday’s episode drew in its smallest audience to date.
8pm
- American Idol (22.5 million, 7.9/22 in 18-49) was out of tune by 700,000.
- NCIS (16.3 million, 3.4/10) improved by 400,000.
- The Biggest Loser: Couples (9.4 million, 3.6/10) was up a tick.
- According to Jim (3.5 million, 1.0/3) slid by 200,000.
- Reaper (1.8 million, 0.7/2) dropped 700,000.

MONDAY 4/27)
- Little People, Big World (TLC, 8pm): “Matt has high expectations for the upcoming pumpkin season, but he starts to worry when opening day fails to draw large crowds.” His pessimism grows when he sees Charlie Brown sitting alone in the patch.
- How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8:30pm): “Ted starts texting a woman (Rebecca Budig) he recently met, breaking one of Barney and Marshall’s relationship rules.” His “Bro” status is then revoked when he friends her on Facebook.
- Table for 12 (TLC, 9pm): “Eric and Betty Hayes share their step-by-step guide to raising a large family.” The “creating” section of that guide will be left out.
- CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm): “A sexy bachelorette on a popular TV dating series is discovered murdered in a limousine just as the bachelor on the show is going to propose to her.” The prerecorded event was later billed as a finale “shocker.”

Okay - so Fringe might have had a little help from Adam Lambert. But FOX would have won anyway right? Despite its long absence, the freshman series returned last night to stronger numbers than when it left.
8pm
- American Idol (22 million, 7.8/21 in 18-49) was out of tune by 1.4 million.
- NCIS (17.6 million, 3.6/10) grew by 800,000.
- The Biggest Loser: Couples (8 million, 3.1/8) lost 800,000.
- It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (1.3/3) rounded up 4.6 million.
- Reaper (2.3 million, 0.9/2) did about the same.

Dropped by 16 affiliates? Who cares! When you’re given a post-American Idol time slot, you’ll always do well. Despite being blocked in parts of the country, Osbournes: Reloaded still enjoyed a nice turnout last night. The variety show - combined with the reality version - helped give FOX a double win last night.
8pm
- American Idol (8.4/23 in 18-49) sang to the tune of 23.4 million.
- NCIS (16.8 million, 3.4/9) took a 1 million hit.
- The Biggest Loser: Couples (8.8 million, 3.5/9) dropped 1 million.
- Two Better off Ted* repeats (0.9/3) had 3.4 million amused.
- Reaper (2.4 million, 1.0/3) maintained most of last week’s numbers.

‘Cupid’ Gets Do-Over
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, HBO, Entourage,
Remember that show Cupid? Starring Jeremy Piven (way before he was a big shot on Entourage)? I vaguely remember it because I’ve been a big Piv fan since his days on Ellen and his role in PCU, so I certainly checked out Cupid. But then, it didn’t stick around. To be exact, the show only lasted 15 episodes when it aired in 1998/1999. The show was written by Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas, but back then, he didn’t have the clout that he’s gotten as a result of Veronica. So, here’s the interesting thing—ABC is giving him a second chance at bringing Cupid back to the small screen. Have you ever heard of a do-over like that? It’ll be cool to see how much they retool it, although it sounds like the concept will remain (a man thinks he’s sent to earth to play cupid… hence the name). You can guarantee of course that they’ll have to re-cast, since I’m pretty sure Piven is otherwise involved with a hit show and heaps of awards. Nor do I suspect that co-star Paula Marshall will return to the series. But Thomas does want to “try to hook some really good guest stars every week,” so hopefully that will keep people tuning in this time around.
