Monday Ratings: Bowl’s a Fiesta for Fox

A two-hour debut of The Bachelor and a two-hour return of Heroes couldn’t compete against college football action. Last night’s broadcast of the Fiesta Bowl gave FOX wins in both the viewers and the demos.

  • Approximately 12.8 million watched Boise State beat TCU in the Fiesta Bowl (4.2/11 in 18-49).
  • (9.5 million, 3.3/8) had its largest premiere since April 2007.
  • * (2.3/6) entertained 7 million.
  • * (2.1/5) turned in 6.7 millon.
  • (4.9 million, 2.2/5) matched an all-time low.
  • * (0.4/1) delivered 1.2 million.

MONDAY (1/4)
  • Heroes (NBC, 8pm):  “Hiro launches a rescue mission but has trouble communicating with Ando about it.” Hiro stopped paying attention to the program a long time ago.
  • Conveyor Belt of Love (ABC, 10pm):  Series premiere. “A not-quite fly-by romance contest in which five women check out 30 men on a conveyor belt. The belt stops for 60 seconds to enable the guys to make to make their cases, and if two girls pick the same guy, he gets to choose.” Conveyor belt matches at sushi restaurants will become the new speed dating at bars.
  • Hoarders (A&E, 10pm):  “A beekeeper manages his business, but his home is unkempt.” Those worker bees aren’t great at multitasking.

TV Talk: Chuck’s Social Media Game, Biggest Loser’s Biggest Contender

Chuck-Want to be seen on an episode of Chuck? Then start talking about it! The more times you reference the NBC series on MySpace, Facebook or Twitter, the better chance you’ll have of appearing in one of Chuck’s flashes.

-Turns out SYTYCD’s Tyce Diorio is partially to blame for that annoying I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter commercial. He choreographed it!

-Hugh Laurie is going to step behind the camera to direct his first episode of House. The actor is also an executive producer of the show.

-The Biggest Loser‘s next round will feature the series’ heaviest contender ever. The 526 lb.-contestant will be seen in the upcoming season premiering Jan. 5th.

-What’s better than speed dating? In ABC’s Conveyor Belt of Love, women can name snap judgments of men passing by quickly on…a conveyor belt.
