TV Talk: Cougar Town May Lose Name, Desperate Housewives Loses a Star

Description-The series Cougar Town may be returning to ABC next fall, but the show’s name might not. Town‘s wants a new title that reflects the comedy’s ensemble cast.

-Speaking of show names, the Parents Television Council is upset that CBS has only changed S**t My Dad Says to $#*! My Dad Says (pronounced “BLEEP My Dad Says”). If they have a better title for the show - based on the popular Twitter page - I’d like to f**king hear it.

-Doesn’t look like Orson Hodge will be forgiving Bree on Desperate Housewives anytime soon. Actor Kyle MacLachlan, who could appear in an an episode or two next season, is off the show.

-One person who will be returning to his show is Charlie Sheen. The actor, who strongly suggested that he would leave Two and a Half Men, is sticking with the comedy for at least two more years.

-The Idol Gives Back special helped raise $45 million for its efforts on Wednesday night. While still impressive, the amount was down $15 million from two years ago.

-If the world is still here in 2024, college basketball will be as well. The NCAA has signed a new 14-year deal with both CBS and Turner Broadcasting worth $10.8 billion.

-Meanwhile, CBS has not yet signed a new deal with Charlie Sheen. An insider claims if Sheen doesn’t sign a contract soon, Two and a Half Men will be officially over.

Charlie Sheen Taking Leave of Absence for Rehab

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, CBS, Gossip, News,

Charlie Sheen‘s problems have followed him into the new year.

It was announced today that the actor will be taking a break from his hit CBS comedy to do a stint in rehab. This move comes not long after his wife, Brooke Mueller, entered a different location for substance abuse.

“As a preventative measure, Charlie Sheen has entered a rehabilitation facility,” Sheen’s rep, Stan Rosenfield, said in a statement. “He will take some time off his series . He has asked that his privacy be honored.  No further statements are planned.”

While it’s unclear specifically why Sheen is seeking treatment, he was the center of some domestic drama on Christmas Day. The 44-year-old has since been charged with two misdemeanors and felony menacing stemming from his fight with Mueller.

It’s not known how Charlie’s stay will affect production on his program.

Hanes won’t be making any more commercials with anytime soon.

The advertising campaign featuring the actor has ended, which a spokesman for the company says is “pretty standard, straightforward” when “somebody who’s in your commercial is arrested on suspicion of something of this magnitude.” He’s referring of course to the recent domestic disturbance between Sheen and his current wife, a highly-publicized and very messy bit of scandal.
