Tuesday Ratings: Big Night for Biggest Loser
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Animation, Comedy, Drama, Kids, Prime Time, Reality, Talk Shows, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Dancing With The Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, Ratings,
Had this been any other Tuesday, CBS would have likely topped all categories. But thanks to a full slate of repeats, the Eye network was only first with the viewers while NBC (finally!) managed a win in the demos.
8pm
- An NCIS* repeat (16.1 million, 3.2/9 in 18-49) was still the most-watched show of the night.
- The Biggest Loser (9.7 million, 3.7/10) had the best demos of the evening.
- Approximately 8.9 million celebrated Halloween with It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (2.7/7).
- So You Think You Can Dance (2.5/6) had 6.5 million on their feet.
- 90210* (1.4 million, 0.7/2) dropped 1 million.

- Trauma (NBC, 9pm): “Tyler and Boone are called to a Halloween party that has gone haywire.” Every year, someone takes “Dead Man’s Party” literally.
- Gossip Girl (CW, 9pm): “Elsewhere, Dan is rattled when he watches one of Olivia’s on-screen sex scenes.” No one wants to think about Lizzie Maguire having sex.

Okay - so Fringe might have had a little help from Adam Lambert. But FOX would have won anyway right? Despite its long absence, the freshman series returned last night to stronger numbers than when it left.
8pm
- American Idol (22 million, 7.8/21 in 18-49) was out of tune by 1.4 million.
- NCIS (17.6 million, 3.6/10) grew by 800,000.
- The Biggest Loser: Couples (8 million, 3.1/8) lost 800,000.
- It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (1.3/3) rounded up 4.6 million.
- Reaper (2.3 million, 0.9/2) did about the same.

- Chuck (NBC, 8pm): “Chuck’s lfe takes fortunate turns: Not only does his long-estranged father return, but Chuck scores a coveted job with Ted Roark (Chevy Chase), a heroic figure in his life.” The guy who got Christie Brinkley to jump naked into a pool is a hero to many.
- Surviving Suburbia (ABC, 9:30pm): “Cynical dad (Bob Saget) accidentally starts a fire in his neighbor’s home after he reluctantly agrees to house-sit.” That’s one way to make sure he won’t be asked again.

Tuesday Ratings: CBS Inches Closer to FOX
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Animation, Comedy, Drama, Kids, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, Specials, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, American Idol, Scrubs, Ratings,
All of a sudden, FOX is being forced to work hard for its money. Last night, new episodes of NCIS and The Mentalist put CBS within 100,000 viewers of the American Idol network. Meanwhile, an Octo-mom special had NBC tied with CBS for second place in the demos.
8pm
- American Idol (24.5 million, 9.0/24 in 18-49) lost 1.8 million.
- NCIS (18 million, 3.7/10) was up 3.6 million from last week.
- The Biggest Loser: Couples (9.3 million, 3.7/9) trimmed off 1.2 million.
- Two Charlie Brown specials (1.5/4) averaged 4.9 million.
- 90210 (2.4 million, 1.2/3) remained even.

MONDAY 2/9)
NOTE: A President Obama press conference will interfere with the previously scheduled programming.
- The Secret Life of the American Teenager (ABC Family, 8pm): “Ben and Amy’s relationship hits a rough patch when Ben tells her he needs some space.” The pressure of buying a Valentine’s Day gift was just too much for him.
- One Way Out (Discovery, 9pm): “The host braves a high-speed barrage of tennis balls and steep plunges into kiddie pools before becoming the projectile in a human catapult.” Idiotic stunts have just become more financially appealing.
- The Girls of Hedsor Hall (MTV, 9pm): Series premiere. “In the opener, 12 rude and crude bad girls from the U.S. enroll in a British finishing school for a chance to transform their lives and win a $100,000 trust.” The goal? To become the next Amy Winehouse or Lily Allen.
- CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm): “Horatio believes that prominent defense attorney (Sean Combs) is involved in the cover-up of a murder.” Diddy doesn’t cover-up murders. That’s what his personal assistants are for.
