Jersey Shore to End After Sixth Season
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Reality, MTV, Cancellations,
Jersey Shore has been axed. MTV confirmed the forthcoming sixth season of the reality TV show - which will premiere in October - will be its final season, but the network is to commemorate the end of the program with a one-hour special entitled "Gym, Tan, Look Back," on September 6. The episode will feature interviews with the Jersey Shore cast and a sneak peek of the sixth season, plus there will be a look back at some of the show's highlights since it began in December 2009.
The show has inspired a number of spin-offs including Geordie Shore - the English version of the program, which takes place in Newcastle, north east England - and Jersey Shore stars Snooki and Jenni "JWoww" Farley have gone on to create their own reality show, Snooki & JWoww.

Khloe and Lamar is to end after two seasons. Stars Khloe Kardashian and her husband Lamar Odom have reportedly decided against continuing with their spin-off reality show because the basketball player - who left the Dallas Mavericks earlier this month - wants to focus on getting his career back on track, sources told gossip website TMZ.
Lamar is currently listed as inactive by the Mavericks, but is hoping for a trade at the end of the season, so the couple are returning to Los Angeles, where the sportsman plans to concentrate on getting back to full fitness.

Paul Reiser Trashes NBC to Jay Leno
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Late Night, Talk Shows, NBC, Cancellations, Gossip, Ratings, Video,
Paul Reiser was originally scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote his new NBC series, The Paul Reiser Show. But the network didn’t cancel his appearance after they cancelled his show. The series was nixed after just two episodes, and Reiser didn’t bother to hide his disenchantment with the network… even on one of their own shows.
“They don’t traditionally make bad decisions,” he said of the network, tongue-in-cheek, to the (current) Tonight Show host. Leno has had his own troubles with NBC, but managed to get re-hired after he was fired from his TV show. We're not sure the same will happen to Reiser.

Kelly Ripa, Susan Lucci Comment on AMC Cancellation
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Daytime, ABC, Cancellations, Gossip,
It’s official: All My Children has been canceled. ABC delivered the news in a shocking double elimination, axing AMC and One Life to Live on the same day.
Kelly Ripa, who played Hayley Vaughan Santos on the series, has already released a statement. “All My Children means so much more to me than any place,” she said of the set where she and husband Mark Consuelos met. “We had our children there, it was a big part of our lives, and I think that to cancel a show that has been on television for so many years, what are you going to replace it with?”

Glenn Beck’s Fox News Show is Over
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Talk Shows, Cable, FOX, Cancellations, Gossip, News, Rumors,
But… what will Jon Stewart talk about on weekday nights? Glenn Beck is leaving his popular Fox News show, putting an end to his controversial but extremely attention-getting run on the Glenn Beck Program.
Beck will still work with Fox News through his company Mercury Radio Arts. He joined Fox at the start of 2009 and immediately doubled ratings in his time slot (and gave left-wing pundits too much to talk about). But his energetic persona has managed to create a lot of controversy, too. He accused the President of the United States of racism and lost Fox News approximately 400 advertising agreements (the number of advertisers who refused to support Beck's program with their ads).
Fox News channel chairman and CEO Roger Ailes had very little to say on the topic. “Half of the headlines say he’s been canceled… the other half say he quit. We’re pretty happy with both of them.”
What the hell does that mean? We’ve no idea, but good luck trying to get a straight answer out of Fox News on any day of the week.

No Worries, Charlie Sheen Certain Show’s Coming Back
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, CBS, Gossip, Rumors,
Two and a Half Men fans needn’t fear for the future of their show: Charlie Sheen says it’s coming back. And in case you haven’t heard, the man’s got “tiger’s blood,” so we’re pretty sure he’s in a position to make this sort of statement.
Charlie Sheen gave the news to Wired 96.5 in Philadelphia while speaking with personalities Chio and Shila. “Absolutely the gig’s coming back, I have absolute faith in that.” And who are we to argue with absolute faith?
“My super powers are blowing it up completely,” Sheen continued. “I think we’re winning this morning.” Well, when you put it that way…

Charlie Sheen Rant Cancels Two and Half Men Production
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, CBS, Cancellations, Gossip, Rumors,
Charlie Sheen isn’t finished with the Two and Half Men producers -- not by a long shot. The troubled actor engaged in a well-publicized rant against the minds behind his CBS show in which he called Chuck Lorre a “stupid, stupid little man,” along with a few other things.
CBS immediately canceled production of the show for the reminder of the season, and potentially all eternity. Sheen, who is currently in the Bahamas, turned to TMZ again to respond to the news. In an open letter, he said Lorre “tried to use his words to judge and attempt to degrade me.”

The Game Raises Its Game on BET

Sometimes a cancellation can be the best thing to happen to the series.
When The Game was dropped by CW in May 2009, the comedy/drama about football players and their significant others was picked up by BET. That was a record-breaking move.
The first two episodes of Season 4 averaged 7.7 million viewers -- almost 6 million more than it did on the CW -- and set a viewership record for sitcoms on cable.
