Posted by David Onda Categories: Action, Drama, Prime Time, Cable, Editorial, News,

Swayze - like the windJust when you thought that the world was ready to let career rest in peace, comes along and proves that they just can’t let sleeping dirty dancers lie. Variety is reporting that Swayze has signed on to star as a rough-n-tumble, take no crap from anybody undercover FBI agent for the pilot of the upcoming A&E series, The Beast. You just can’t stop this man, he is like the wind.

Swayze will star alongside (best know for, if at all, his role on WB’s Tarzan) who will play his more straight-laced partner. Move over Benson and Stabler, Swayze and Fimmel are taking over the streets! Beast will be produced by Sony Pictures which has yet to announce an air date or what retirement home they pulled Swayze out of.

Vanessa Hudgens Invited to Join ‘Girls Gone Wild’

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Kids, Cable, The CW, WB, Gossip, Rumors,

Description

Joe Francis, head of the Girls Gone Wild franchise, has reportedly extended a business opportunity ’ way.  Francis—who is currently locked up in Nevada for just one of his many legal woes—proved that even behind bars, he likes to help poor girls out.  Should Vanessa need some financial help, she could make a nice $500,000 just by joining the GGW family.  Well Isn’t that sweet?

Before I go on, let me make a few things clear:  #1)  I think Vanessa was a complete idiot for snapping a photo that would inevitably be leaked.  #2)  I would never advise her to be associated with anyone named Joe or Francis.  But here’s a thought:  Should Hudgens want to avoid being typecast in the mold, would her ‘unfortunate’ situation give her the opportunity to break free?

7th Heaven Series Finale Set

7th Heaven Am I experiencing deja vu? It seemed like last year was going to be the series finale of 7th Heaven, then they returned for yet another season after the merger of WB and UPN (to become CW). Yes, that did happen, but this year they are really wrapping things up. Really. And you know, they can’t really complain too much—7th Heaven has been the longest running family drama on television, with its first show airing in 1996. May 13th marks the series finale, which will no doubt bring in a fair share of viewers. Last May’s season finale brought in the highest ratings in over two years. While this show never hooked me, there are plenty of fans out there who will be sad to see it go. Besides, it did put Jessica Biel and Barry Watson on the map, so all is not lost.

Runaway Suffers Latest Cancellation

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Drama, Prime Time, UPN, WB, Cancellations, Ratings,

RunawayThe axe just keeps falling—the latest casualty is the CW’s drama Runaway. With only four episodes aired, this new series barely got off the ground to provide itself. This is the one about a family on the run, when dad (Donnie Wahlberg) is accused of murder. Of course, it’s all just a misunderstanding, as he is really innocent. The series aired Mondays at 9:00 p.m., then CW moved Runaway to Sunday, but the move didn’t make any impact on ratings. CW will fill the slot with repeats until another replacement is announced. As you recall, CW came about when UPN and WB combined. Runaway was only one of two series from the newborn network. The other was the comedy The Game.
