A new year means a new TV schedule.
This week, we’ll see a number of familiar faces returning to primetime. On Monday, Brad Womack will play The Bachelor for a second time on ABC. The following day, Paula Abdul will come back to reality television with Live to Dance while Jane Badler will once again be featured in a series titled V.
As you will see from the schedule, Hellcats won’t be the only show airing on a new day. The Defenders will move to Fridays as will Fringe. Meanwhile, NBC has shuffled its Thursday night comedy lineup around.
We hope our detailed guide -- with information from the five major networks -- can assist you in the weeks to come. We’ve included the days, times and return/premiere dates for the midseason programs.
(NOTE: This schedule has been updated as of January 27. Don’t be surprised to see changes in the weeks to come.)

-Is Disney's Sonny with a Chance in jeopardy? It’s unclear how Demi Lovato’s decision to seek treatment for personal issues will affect production. The show was set to resume filming in mid-January.
-Today will be Gene Shalit’s final morning on the Today show. The longtime film critic will be signing off the program after 40 years. “It’s enough already,” the 85-year-old said.
-Speaking of retirement, this will be Jo Frost’s last season as Supernanny. "[Having children] is not an option when you are traveling and working 46 weeks out of the year. Proper balance will allow me to date and have a relationship and look at my own future of having a family," she explained.

Friday Ratings: Big Bump for Betty

Okay, so CBS was in repeats—but I think we’d all accept gifts when we can. A lack of competition helped Friday’s broadcast of Ugly Betty reach its best numbers of the season. Thankfully, the program will be given a new opportunity when it starts airing on Wednesdays in January.
8pm
- Law & Order (8.8 million, 1.7/6) had a long-awaited win in its hour.
- Yes, Virginia (1.3/5) entertained 5.3 million.
- Supernanny (1.3/5) scolded 4.6 million.
- The Big Bang Theory* (1.4/5) contributed 4.6 million to the evening.
- The first hour of Dollhouse (1.0/3) raised 2.7 million.
- Smallville* (0.5/1) averaged 1.4 million over two hours.
