Secret Talents of the Stars Already Cancelled

Thanks to dismal numbers for Tuesday’s debut, CBS has decided to cancel Secret Talents of the Stars after only one outing.
The show which would have eventually had viewers vote on their favorite performances was originally scheduled to air through the end of May. Unfortunately, the reality series placed a distant third in its original time slot (even behind a repeat). If things dwindled from there, the phone lines would have been painfully quiet.
So what did this abrupt cancellation force us to miss out on? Next week, Jo Dee Messina was slated to perform modern dance, Joshua Morrow was going to juggle and Bridget Marquardt was planning to transform into a trapeze artist. (Yes, be thankful the program ended now.)
If you missed out any of this week’s performances, you can catch four of them after the jump:

Apparently not many cared that Mya is a fabulous tap dancer or that Sasha Cohen is as bendy as a Chinese acrobat. The new CBS reality show placed last in its hour. Meanwhile, FOX rolled away with another Tuesday win.
8pm
- American Idol (24 million, 8.9/24 in 18-49) was out of tune by 1.2 million.
- A new NCIS (13.9 million, 2.9/8) was up 3.7 million from last week.
- The Biggest Loser (3.7/9) weighed in at 9.1 million.
- Just for Laughs (5.5 million, 1.4/4) did the same as before.
- Beauty and the Geek (1.8 million, 0.8/2) was up a few ticks.

MONDAY (4/7)
- Today (NBC, 10am): Kathie Lee Gifford returns to morning TV this week. And I thought the New Kids were getting old.
- Samantha Who? (ABC, 9:30pm): New episode. “Samantha has to move back into the apartment when she learns that she could be evicted for subletting it to Todd.” The girlfriend you hate gets amnesia and you get to keep her apartment. Todd has seriously been getting off easy so far.
- The Bachelor (ABC, 10pm): “It’s an afternoon of tennis and tea for six of the ladies.” I’ve seen what an afternoon of women’s tennis can look like on The Real Housewives of NYC. This won’t end pretty.
- Medium (NBC, 10pm): “Rosanna Arquette stars as an older seductress linked to the brutal murders of two younger men.” Maybe it’s best her relationship with Paul McCartney fizzled out.

Now that we have come to the end of the writers’ strike, it’s time to once again update our television programming schedules.
Mid-season replacements have had seen their debuts shuffled (e.g. New Amsterdam), some programs are coming back with new episodes (e.g. Scrubs, 30 Rock) while other shows aren’t slated to return until next year (Pushing Daisies).
Here you can find a
compilation of the 2008 post-strike schedulesfor the five major networks. I would highly recommend printing this out since there are major changes across the board.
Two notes:
- This is the updated schedule as of May 6. Be prepared to see more changes and settling in the weeks to come.
- The list consists of premieres and dates for new episodes.
- If a particular time slot/network is not mentioned, either nothing has changed or no specific announcement has been made yet.
