Nicole Richie to Guest Judge Project Runway

Nicole Richie will soon be returning to reality TV.
Paris Hilton’s former sidekick will guest judge on the season premiere of Project Runway, which airs on January 14 on Lifetime.
Executive producer Sara Rea says that “Nicole is a fabulous guest judge.”

Nicole Richie Strikes Deal with ABC

Nicole Richie is to become a comedy star. The socialite - who starred in hit reality show The Simple Life with Paris Hilton - has teamed up with ABC to create a new series.
Richie announced the details on her personal website. “I am so excited to announce that I am officially working on a television project! I am creating a half hour scripted comedy for ABC in which I will be starring in, as well as producing,” she wrote.

Preview Nicole Richie’s Guest Stint on Chuck

She may be a new mom, but she still knows how to get dirty.
On next week’s Chuck, Nicole Richie shows us that she’s come a long way since her bleach pouring days on The Simple Life. In the episode, Nicole plays Heather Chandler (Heathers, anyone?) a former high school rival of Sarah’s.
Unfortunately for Walker, the CIA agent is forced to attend a conveniently-timed high school reunion to deal with a person who just happens to be married to Richie. She is also forced to deal with the awkward memories she tried so hard to leave behind.

Nicole Richie to Guest Star on Chuck

After years of acting like a bratty socialite, Nicole Richie has finally decided to dabble in real comedic fare. (I mean - if Paris Hilton can attempt it, anyone can.)
Next fall, we’ll be seeing Richie in an episode of NBC’s Chuck. The new mom will play a “snarky and spiteful girl who tortured Sarah in school.” (That description is so Lohan on Ugly Betty.) The two cross paths again when Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) is forced to attend her high school reunion for a mission.
This job actually won’t be the first non-reality role for Nicole. The Simple Life star has also made appearances on American Dreams and 8 Simple Rules.

Paris Hilton Asks: Will You Be My Best Friend?

Paris Hilton has money, looks, street cred from spending time in the pokey and at least the illusion of perhaps somewhere deep down a shred of talent, but what she really needs is a friend…you perhaps?
Us Magazine says that’s the concept for Hilton’s next reality show. Sources, always unnamed of course, tell Us Paris is “tired of the haters and is looking for someone new. She’s looking for someone new and cool who she can trust.” I suspect the bigger question is can you trust her? Let’s hope she cares for her friends a bit better than her dogs or cell phones since she always seems to be losing both.
The project doesn’t have a title yet. Us says it is expected to be picked up by MTV or VH1.

Aguilera, Richie Share Same Delivery Date

UPDATE: Christina Aguilera reports on her own website that her son, Max Liron Bratman, was actually born on Saturday.
Thanks to Britney Spears’ hospitalization and Dennis Quaid’s overdosed babies, LA’s Cedars-Sinai hospital has been receiving a lot of unwanted publicity lately. Hopefully two highly-anticipated deliveries at the facility yesterday will (temporarily) direct the media’s attention toward other celebrity matters.
- Celebutante Nicole Richie and boyfriend Joel Madden welcomed a a 6 lb., 7 oz. baby Friday. (This birth officially brings Richie’s weight back down to “0”.) The girl, named Harlow Winter Kate Madden, is the first child for both The Simple Life star, 26, and the rocker, 28. Plans for a wedding will be set at a later time.
- Same place, different time. E! Online is reporting that singer Christina Aguilera, 27, and husband Jordan Bratman, 30, are also proud new parents. According to a text message sent out yesterday, the couple welcomed their child sometime around 4pm yesterday. No other details have yet been released.
In other baby news, actress Courtney Thorne-Smith (According to Jim) and her husband, Roger Fishman, introduced a son Friday: Jacob Emerson Fishman. One day prior, David Alan Grier (In Living Color) and his wife, Christine Y. Kim, said hello to daughter Luisa Danbi Grier-Kim. Both couples are first-time parents.

Nicole Richie: All Grown Up?

Strange things happen to women when they get pregnant, but it’s hard not to look at some celebs with a cynical eye. How is it possible, for instance, that a party girl and troublemaker, reality star and celebutante, could suddenly become a responsible adult? Believe it or not, Nicole Richie seems ready to accept that role.
The expectant starlet recently delayed her wedding to boyfriend (and father-to-be) Joel Madden, but she’s moving forward with other areas of her life. Now that she’s going to be a mother herself, Nicole is looking for a way to bury the hatchet with her biological parents, people she’s had a rocky relationship with from the age of three. Nicole plans to open up about her biological parents in an upcoming interview, and hopes to pave the way for a future relationship. Meanwhile, the postponed nuptials will take place after the birth of her baby - the sex of which Richie has opted to not learn.
Once, she was a sidekick to frenemy Paris Hilton. Now, she’s a young mother-to-be doing her best to bridge the gap between her past and the future. Unbelievably, it looks like Miss Richie is finally growing up.

Paris Plans Party for Nicole Richie

Paris Hilton is hard at work planning a baby shower for her galpal and greatest frenemy Nicole Richie. Hilton is still looking for ideas on games to play and what to buy her BFF, as the gender of Richie’s baby has not yet been determined. (Richie decided to wait to find out the sex.)
Paris says the shower will contain Nicole’s closest girlfriends and relatives, and will be thrown this Sunday at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Nicky and Kathy Hilton (sis and mom to Paris) will also attend the event, as Richie has been a Hilton family friend for most of her life.
Nicole Richie’s wedding with Joel Madden, the baby’s father, was recently postponed and will be held after the birth, which is expected in 2008.

Nicole Richie In (and Out of) Jail

Simple Life star and famous celebutante Nicole Richie has been booked and released from jail…in under two hours. Richie was assigned to complete four days at the LA County Sheriff’s Department as part of her December 11 DUI arrest. Richie was spotted driving the wrong way on the 134 Freeway, and admitted to arresting officers she had consumed Vicodin and marijuana. Richie was sentenced to four days in jail, three years’ probation, asked to pay a $2,048 fine, and must take alcohol education classes. Nicole reported to the Century Regional Detention Facility at 3:15 pm to check in. She was processed and released at 4:37 pm. Though this quick catch-and-release might sound odd, it’s actually part of standard procedure. The Sheriff’s Department is already under federal order to reduce jail overcrowding, but crime hasn’t slowed down. This leaves the Department will few other options. Thousands of inmates have been released before their full sentences have been completed, not just famous inmates.
