Hilary Duff Returns to TV

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, Cable, News,

Hilary Duff It’s not another Lizzie McGuire, but Hilary Duff is again making her way to the small screen. The actress/singer who was once the world’s most famous tween will have her own reality show on MTV. Titled This Is Now, the show airs Monday nights at 9:30 and features Hilary living her normal, whirlwind life as she tours with her new album Dignity and lives the life as one of Hollywood’s hip. The singer’s security staff had a scare recently while she was doing promotion for the album. During an interview, a man in the crowd made loud, verbal threats to kill Duff. The man was subsequently tackled and taken down by security, and Duff continued with her regularly-scheduled meet and greets, proving that Dignity is an apt title for her album. Fans who have been dying to get a peek at Duff’s inner world have only to tune to MTV to see her in her element.

Upcoming “The Simple Life” Promises Enemas

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie I only wish that headline were a typo. Ugh… the next season of Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie’s The Simple Life begins on May 28th and they’ll be tackling the roles of camp counselors at a wellness camp this go-around. And of course, what could be more fun than seeing these rich chicks do something totally disgusting, most likely while they’re calling it “so hot.” In an interview with Reuters, Richie said “We gave the campers enemas. We did it outside, so that was a lot of fun. It was something that I never thought I would do before.” Yeah, I’m sure most of us can say the same thing. The camp is run by Susan Powter, that nutrition/fitness chick from the 90s (so if you were wondering whatever happened to her, now’s your time to catch up). The Simple Life premieres its fifth season on E! on May 28th.

Nicole Richie—Too Thin?

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Reality, Cable, Cable/Satellite, Rumors,

Nicole RichieFinally, Nicole Richie is doing something about her shrinking size. The ultra-skinny co-star of The Simple Life is now looking for help—her publicist told E! News that Richie has gone to a facility “to undergo diagnostic treatment to determine why she’s not been putting on any weight.” The rep further said, “She is working with a team of doctors and specialists whose focus is nutrition. It is important to Nicole that she achieve this goal in a healthy way, [but] this is not a treatment for an eating disorder.” For now, production of The Simple Life is on hold. Her weight has been of question lately—her response was that it was due to the stress of her breakup with Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein.

Last month, Richie responded to a CNN report that she was seeking treatment for anorexia, saying “Contrary to CNN’s false accusations, I did not check myself into an eating disorder rehab… I do not have an eating disorder, and I don’t know how many times I have to say it.” She also spoke out on the Tyra Banks Show, once again denying any eating disorder.

Paris and Nicole Together Again?

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Reality, Cable, Cable/Satellite, News, Rumors,

Paris and NicoleJust in case her nightclub brawl with Shanna Moakler didn’t thrust her into the spotlight enough, Paris Hilton is yet again making news with a possible reconciliation with ex-best bud Nicole Richie. The once inseparable The Simple Life co-stars had a break-up of sorts that drove a wedge between them, even impacting their most recent season of The Simple Life, where they were never in the same place at the same time.

E! Online is reporting that the two appear to have ended their 18 month spat—they arrived together for dinner at a West Hollywood restaurant on Sunday night, had a sleepover and endured the snapping of the paparazzi to commemorate their get-together. “We are back!” they said before they drove away. Oh goodie. I know you were all so worried about when they would reconcile. We can all sleep better now. Okay, I’m done with the cynicism now.
