VIDEO: Kiefer Sutherland Wears Dress for Letterman

I doubt even Jack Bauer has had to endure such torture.
Actor Kiefer Sutherland suffered his “most humiliating moment” ever when he was forced to wear a dress on TV earlier this week.
The 24 star admitted to David Letterman that his green dress, cream t-shirt and combat boots ensemble was the result of a Patriots game.
“I lost a bet over the weekend. I was so sure New England was going to win, that I told a guy who used to be my friend that if New England lost, I would wear a dress on Letterman And so, here I am,” he explained.

Even though the show celebrated Halloween two days late, The Simpsons’ annual “Treehouse of Horror” special was still timely with the viewers. Last night’s animated event gave the series its best performance in the demos in nearly five years. That result, in turn, gave the network a Sunday win in the demos. Meanwhile, the Patriots/Colts football game put NBC on top with the viewers.
8pm
- Approximately 14.2 million saw the Indianapolis Colts beat the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football (5.3/12 in 18-49).
- The Simpsons (6.2/15) delivered 12.5 million.
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (11.7 million, 3.8/9) was off by 500,000.
- The Amazing Race (9.8 million, 2.8/7) did about the same.
- King of the Hill (4.3/10) registered 8.6 million.
- Valentine (800,000, 0.2/1) fell by 46,000.

Sunday Ratings: Brady Loses in Front of Largest Crowd Ever
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Specials, Sports, FOX, House, Ratings,
Although there were other things on last night that didn’t involve football, it’s really pointless to mention them this time around. So let’s just focus on the nuts and bolts of the New York Giants/New England Patriots match-up:
- Super Bowl XLII averaged 97.5 million viewers overall. This put the the contest ahead of the 1996 game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers (94.1 million).
- In addition to being the most-watched Super Bowl, the event came in 2nd for total television viewership ever. The M.A.S.H. finale still holds the top honor even after 25 years. (A whopping 105.9 million said goodbye to that series in 1983.)
- At its peak, the game drew in nearly 107 million viewers. (They were all tuning in to see if Tom Brady would cry.)
- As a result of it’s humongous lead-in, a post-game episode of House drew 29 million viewers. That was easily its largest audience ever.

Three Networks to Broadcast Patriots Game
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Sports, CBS, NBC, Announcements, Cable/Satellite,
If you were to look up the word ‘overkill’ in the dictionary, I’m sure some reference to an event this weekend would be in there.
For the first time since Super Bowl I, more than one network will be simulcasting the same football game. And we haven’t even reached the playoffs yet.
The 15-0 New England Patriots will be working to complete the first perfect NFL season since 1972’s Miami Dolphins (14-0). In order to accomplish this, they will need to finish off the New York Giants (10-5) in Giants Stadium this Saturday. To appease all the Brady-haters and lovers - and members of Congress - who are highly interested in this game, the NFL Network is agreeing to let this one matchup be seen outside of its borders. Now football fans who are not also subscribers of the channel will have access to the same feed via CBS or NBC. (Yes, this does also mean we’ll be getting three times the Bryant Gumbel as well.)
Oh - and in case you are still having trouble figuring out how to see the game, know that it is on starting @ 8pm EST.

Tom Brady Outscores ‘High School Musical 2’
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Prime Time, Sports, Cable, ESPN-HD, Ratings,
Monday night’s game between the undefeated New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens earned stellar numbers for ESPN—and record numbers for cable overall.
The Monday Night Football game drew 17.5 million viewers. This total, just like the score of the game (27-24), narrowly beat the record set by High School Musical 2 for the most-watched cable telecast ever. (The musical’s August premiere rounded up an impressive 17.2 million for The Disney Channel.)
Assuming QB Tom Brady brings his undefeated team all the way to this year’s championship game, we can expect insane viewing numbers and advertising dollars for FOX.
The Super Bowl, featuring Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, is scheduled for Feb. 3rd.
