The introduction of two new (yet old) shows on NBC did little to help the network. ABC once again won the Sunday demos and came close to surpassing CBS with the viewers.
8pm
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition* (3.0/8 in 18-49) pounded out 9.9 million.
- Big Brother 9 (6.5 million, 2.1/6) shrunk by another 1.5 million.
- Monk (1.5/4) debuted with 5.7 million.
- The Simpsons* (5.5 million, 2.7/8) saw a 1.6 million decrease; King of the Hill (5.2 million, 2.5/7) saw a loss of 800,000.
- Everybody Hates Chris (940,000, 0.4/1) trailed off by 360,000; Aliens in America* (870,000, 0.3/1) slipped by 120,000.

MONDAY (3/31)
- Dancing with the Stars (ABC, 8pm): The top 10 dancers take the floor tonight. If Marlee Matlin also manages to master the fast jive, she’ll have my votes from this point out.
- The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8pm): “Sheldon gets sick, but the guys refuse to take care of him because he’s such a bad patient.” So is there such thing as a good male patient?
- How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8:30): “Barney tries to find the mystery woman who’s out to ruin his reputation, and he uses the basketball tournament-bracket template to eliminate 64 suspects.” Okay - if CBS can’t get around to finally renewing this series, I will give them 64 reasons why I hate them.
- New Amsterdam (FOX, 9pm): “When a murder victim in Chinatown murder reminds John of a son he lost in the early 20th century, the investigation leads to a ruthless crime family who are related to his offspring.” And I thought Terminator‘s storyline was trippy.

Top Chef Chicago: Episode 3
Posted by Jacci Lewis Categories: Food & Home, Prime Time, Reality, Bravo, Cable, Top Chef, Cable/Satellite, Editorial, Features, News,
I’ve decided to enact a strict “three episode” policy for all reality shows. I won’t judge how good or bad the show is until I’ve sat through three entire episodes. This policy is painful at times, but necessary to weed awful shows out of the limited time I have to watch TV. (See Here Come The Newlyweds.)
I’ve now completed my preliminary obligation to Top Chef Chicago and despite some reservations (no pun intended) after the first two episodes, I’ve decided this could end up being a good season after all.
The fourth installment of the popular Bravo reality series takes 15 would-be celebrity chefs to the culinary mecca of Chicago. This season is a familiar blend of stereotypical characters from seasons past with one big exception: this time around there is a lesbian couple among the competitors (they compete separately, of course).

Sunday Ratings: ABC Tops on Easter Holiday
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Animation, Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Everybody Hates Chris, Family Guy, Ratings,
Although last night’s numbers were a bit confusing - CBS’ NCAA coverage caused show overlaps in parts of the country - it appears ABC managed to pull out another Sunday win. The network was first in both the viewers and the demos.
8pm
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (3.9/11 in 18-49) nailed down 11.1 million.
- A 60 Minutes/Big Brother hour (2.4/7/) turned in 10.3 million.
- Dateline (6.1 million, 1.3/4) was down 1.9 million from last Sunday.
- The Simpsons* (4.8 million, 2.4/7) and Unhitched (3.1 million, 1.5/4) both took large hits this week.
- Both Everybody Hates Chris (990,000, 0.5/1) and Aliens in America (930,000, 0.4/1) were off slightly.

MONDAY (3/10)
- The Bachelor: Where Are They Now? (ABC, 8pm): “Highlights from past seasons include segments catching up with past bachelors (Andrew Firestone and Aaron Buerge) and former contestants.” So the whole point of the show is to say there is no point to this show. Look at how successful it’s been!
- Canterbury’s Law (FOX, 8pm): Series premiere. “Julianna Margulies stars as a maverick defense lawyer who plays by her own rules to help the falsely accused.” I’m guessing ER will still be on long after this program goes off the air.
- New Amsterdam (FOX, 9pm): Regular day and time. If you didn’t watch last Tuesday or Thursday, I’m sure you won’t tonight either.
- October Road (ABC, 9pm): Special time. In the season (series?) finale, “Eddie’s ex-girlfriend shows up to reconnect with him, causing problems in his relationship with Janet.” Since we may never get a satisfactory resolution from this ratings-starved show, let’s just pretend Janet kicks her ass.
