  • 24 (FOX, 9pm):  “President Taylor enlists a private security firm led by Mark Bledsoe (D.B. Sweeney) to assist in the crisis.” She believes his experience with the “Pamchenko” could come handy in this situation.
  • Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (FOOD, 10pm):  “Guy visits a 40-year-old fish shack in Mayport, Fla., where shrimp is prepared nine different ways.” Thanks to the economy, employees aren’t the only thing Bubba Gump has had to cut back on.
  • United States of Tara (Showtime, 10:30pm):  “A tornado strikes the city and the Gregsons seek shelter in their basement, where Tara’s new alter, therapist Shoshana Schoenbaum, convenes a family meeting.” Misery always loves new company.

Friday Ratings: Dollhouse Down, Betty Up

Do viewers watch programs they know are being canceled? Based on Dollhouse‘s ratings last night, probably not. The FOX drama returned this weekend to series-low ratings. Elsewhere, fans of Ugly Betty did their best to keep that ABC comedy from the chopping block.

  • (8.2 million, 1.9/7 in 18-49) had the best numbers of the night.
  • Muppets Christmas: Letters To Santa (1.1/4) entertained 4.3 million for NBC.
  • ABC’s Dreams Come True special (0.9/3) saw 3.7 million tune in.
  • (0.8/3) averaged 2.1 million over two hours.
  • * (1.8 million, 0.8/3) added on 200,000.

Friday night. CBS’ lineup easily held off its contenders to win both the viewers and the demos.
