Tori & Dean: Reality TV Royalty

Tori and Dean

Last Tuesday night was a night that I had been anticipating for nine months, the season premiere of Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood on Oxygen. I can honestly say that I feel like I have known my whole life. I grew up with Donna Martin on 90210. I even thought she was hilarious as Violet on Saved By the Bell. Though I didn’t love So NoTORIous, I didn’t hate it either. She is just so… real. Last week’s season premiere episode caught us up on the lives of the McDermotts in 2009.

Little Liam is about to turn 2. Stella, the baby, is doing all the typical baby things. They have moved to yet another house. Dean is filming a television movie, and Tori is involved in about 720,000 projects, as usual. Something that is so great about this show is watching them struggle with things that normal, non-television, families deal with such as: Tori wanting to be a stay-at-home mom, but not having enough money; Dean wishing they could get their pre-parenting sex life back; and Liam being jealous of his new sister. This season promises us the drama of a motorcycle accident, a new book, an appearance on the new , Tori dealing with Dean’s on-screen romance, and of course some drama with Tori’s infamous mother Candy.

Make sure you set your DVR for Tuesday nights, you can’t miss even one episode! While you are lying by the pool, check out Tori’s new book, Mommywood. I give it 4 stars!!!

Tuesday Ratings: Idol Hits a New Low

90210 Finale Offers Fireworks

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip, Video,

Ethan admitted his feelings for Silver, Naomi got into a screaming match with Annie, hottie Liam got dragged off to Godonlyknowswhere…and the main character might’ve killed someone at the end of the episode. All in all, it was a pretty good first season finale for .

To backtrack, the episode followed up on the Sophomore Prom (an event which does not exist at any high school I’ve ever known…but then who knows what the kids are doing these days). Naomi () decided to host the after party at her house, a decision which led to the culmination of several different story lines.

Wednesday Ratings: Solid Finale for Lost

Lost might not be able to compete against Adam, Kris and Danny, but its finale was still noteworthy. Last night’s season ender saw the program’s biggest audience since the beginning of April.

Tuesday Ratings: Sizable Numbers for Biggest Loser

Despite its position on a fourth place network, The Biggest Loser somehow manages to buck NBC’s ratings trend. Last night’s finale saw the program’s biggest audience since 2005. The reality show also had its best demos in 2 1/2 years.

90210 Goes to the Prom

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip, Video,

The first season of , the CW’s surprising success story, is coming to a close. In the final two episodes of the season, the entire cast will carouse at the West Beverly Hills High School Prom. This is not an unfamiliar first-season concept in the world of Beverly Hills serialized TV. In fact, the original Beverly Hills, 90210 ended with a similar event.

In the original inception of the series, the Bev Hills kids gathered near the end of the season for the Spring Dance, a very formal affair where they experimented with alcohol, dating new people and sex. Is it possible that the prom event that will wrap up the new 90210’s first season could be every bit as juicy? Follow the jump to view a video that’s filled with not-yet-aired scenes that most of the world won’t see until they tune into to 90210 tonight:

Wednesday Ratings: Country Experiencing Obama Fatigue

Looks like President Obama wasn’t what viewers had in mind for sweeps. Last night’s umpteenth press conference was seen by 29% less people than the March 24th version. Although FOX was able to beat the other networks for its airing of Lie to Me, the strategic move was probably a moot point. American Idol would have given the network a win anyway.

Barack Obama8pm

  • (7.9 million, 2.4/7 in 18-49) did the same as last week.
  • NBC’s coverage of the presser (1.6/5) drew in 6.7 million.
  • ABC’s political hour (1.6/5) attracted 6.1 million.
  • Approximately 6 million watched the president on CBS (1.5/5).
  • (4 million, 1.8/6) remained steady.

Tuesday Ratings: Season Low for 90210

Has the update novelty already worn off? Although 90210 helped spawn a reboot of Melrose Place, the teen drama - already renewed for another season - is starting to show signs of weakness. Yesterday’s episode drew in its smallest audience to date.
