This Week on TV (6/7-6/13)


 

MONDAY (6/7)
  • The Bachelorette (ABC, 8pm):  “Fourteen bachelors remain, nine of whom accompany Ali to a Barenaked Ladies performance (and are cast in one of the band’s videos).” If one of them passes a drug test, they could also become Barenaked Ladies’ latest singer.
  • True Beauty (ABC, 10pm):  “Penn and Teller teach the contestants a magic trick, but swear them to secrecy on how it’s done. Will anyone give it up when questioned by a reporter?” More importantly: Will they give up the Everlasting Gobstopper?
  • Mega Bites (TLC, 10pm):  “A chef teams up with an engineer and a food scientist to build the world’s largest Rice Krispies Treat.” The bomb squad was mistakenly dispatched after reports of large snaps, crackles and pops.
TUESDAY (6/8)
  • Human Spider (Animal, 9pm):  “A documentary profiling intrepid free climber Alain Robert as he attempts to scale some of the world’s tallest buildings, including Malaysia’s Petronas Towers, using no rope or safety equipment.” Like most Animal Planet shows, this program will end with something being squashed.
  • Pretty Little Liars (ABC Family, 8pm):  Series premiere. “Drama about four estranged friends reuniting because of mysterious messages that suggest their missing friend is watching them.” Their emails read: “Alison is now following your updates on .”
  • Hell’s Kitchen (FOX, 8pm):  “The team challenge facing the 15 chefs: prepare eggs four different ways.” The results will leave Gordon Ramsey feeling hard-boiled.

 

WEDNESDAY (6/9)
  • Dinner: Impossible (Food, 10pm):  “Robert prepares dinner for 100 speed daters.” It’s hard to please people who have to eat and run.
  • Monsters Inside Me (Animal, 10pm):  Season premiere. “A dance instructor learns she has decaying worms in her colon.” Her ability to do the worm died with them.
  • Peep Show (BBC America, 10pm):  “Mark attends a school reunion and considers having an affair with his old crush.” He had no idea she was the inventor behind Post-It Notes.

 

THURSDAY (6/10)
  • 100 Questions (NBC, 8:30pm):  “Charlotte falls for a guy and tries to attract his attention.” Unfortunately, he also doesn’t watch her show.
  • Police Women of Memphis (TLC, 9pm):  “Arica gets hit on by a quirky underwear-clad suspect.” He had her arrested at the word “Hanes.”
  • Mall Cops: Mall of America (TLC, 10pm):  “The mall’s no-pets rule is overturned for a charity dog walk.” The animals behaved far better than the usual mall rats.

 

FRIDAY (6/11)
  • Friday Night Lights (NBC, 8pm):  “Julie and Matt go to a concert and end up making a decision about their relationship.” concerts don’t need to be enjoyed as a couple.
  • Flashpoint (CBS, 9pm):  “A deluded man kidnaps a woman he insists is his missing daughter and the SRU team attempts to rescue her.” Once she finishes cleaning her room, he’ll let her go.
  • Past Life (FOX, 10pm):  “The team helps an insurance company executive whose out-of-body experiences are evidence that he’s in danger of losing his soul.” Fortunately, he’s covered for this kind of occurrence.

 

SUNDAY (6/13)
  • Bridezillas (We, 9pm):  “A woman worries about her disappearing bridal party.” Who else will do her bidding?
  • Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami (E!, 10pm):  Season premiere. “The second season begins with Khloe postponing a return trip to Miami to help Kourtney run their business, which causes Kourtney to accuse her sister of being a poor business partner and sibling.” But she’s excellent at generating publicity.
  • Treme (HBO, 10pm):  “Davis comes up with a tonic for the inevitable letdown after Mardi Gras.” He’ll have to come up with something much stronger to get over the oil spill.
