This Week on TV (5/18-5/24)

So You Think You Can Dance

(You can view TV Envy’s Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY 5/18)
  • 24 (FOX, 8pm):  Two-hour finale. “Jack reaches an emotional breaking point.” I would advise everyone to stay out of head-butting range from Bauer.
  • The Bachelorette (ABC, 9pm):  Season premiere. “Jillian Harris, the 29-year-old Canadian who was a runner-up for the heart of 2009 Bachelor Jason Mesnick, gets a new perspective on the rose ceremony.” She plans on being much more selective about those she jumps into hot tubs with hands stems to.
  • Table for 12 (TLC, 9pm):  “The Hayes family embarks on a 420-mile road trip to Canada.” The free health care will make up for the cost in gas.
  • Gotti’s Way 2 (VH1, 10:30pm):  “While in therapy, Debbie realizes a need for boundaries on her relationship with Irv.” The audience at home will still be allowed full access though.
TUESDAY 5/19)
  • American Idol (FOX, 8pm):  “Adam Lambert and Kris Allen compete in the finals.” Hah, Paula! Turns out you didn’t have this thing figured out since Day 1 after all!
  • Reaper (CW, 8pm):  “The Devil places Sam in a company that is a front for capturing souls.” That company is often referred to as Target.
  • Glee (FOX, 9pm):  Series preview. “In the pilot of this musical-comedy drama about the misfits who make up a high-school glee club, teacher and former glee-club star Will Schuester must find a male singer to match diva Rachel.” I only recently got “Don’t Stop Believin’” out of my head after finale. Will proceed with caution.
  • Garage Majal (DIY, 9:30pm):  “A two-car garage becomes a rock-concert hall, complete with fold-down stage and acoustic panels.” A big screen TV to plug in Rock Band is included as well.

WEDNESDAY (5/20)
  • Clean House: The Messiest Home in the Country (Style, 8pm):  “The so-called messiest house in the US is located, and Niecy’s team goes to clean it.” Years of hard work destroyed for a reality show’s gain. Only in America.
  • Gary Unmarried (CBS, 8:30pm):  Season finale. “Gary and Allison find themselves together in the bedroom again…and again.” It’s like , but without the funny movie.
  • Mythbusters (Discovery, 9pm):  “An unlikely myth involving a skydiver, a seesaw and a small girl is put to the test.” I’m not sure I want to know the punchline to this urban legend.
  • Law & Order (NBC, 10pm):  “The murders of three homeless men are attributed to a serial killer, but detectives think a copycat killer may be involved after they find out a victim was wearing a pair of roller skates that did not belong to him.” Dora the Explorer’s image was the giveaway.

THURSDAY (5/21)
  • Ugly Betty (ABC, 8pm):  Two-hour finale. “Betty’s plans to move in with Matt are interrupted by a surprise visit from Henry (Christopher Gorham).” It’s so like him to run back to her now that Harper’s Island has been moved.
  • So You Think You Can Dnace (FOX, 8pm):  Two-hour premiere. “The fifth season begins with the first two rounds of auditions.” I think this is what Dancing with the Stars is missing: a celebrity audition phase.
  • Southland (NBC, 10pm):  Season finale. “A Marta’s Avenue gang member is found dead outside of Dodger Stadium.” Some jerseys should not be coordinated with gang colors.
  • Wrecked (Speed, 10pm):  “A livestock truck carrying 150 hogs collides with a pickup truck.” Bacon is bacon, no matter how you prepare it.

FRIDAY (5/22)
  • Don’t Tell the Bride (BBC, 9pm):  “A groom is marrying his childhood sweetheart, and he recruits his best friend to help him plan the wedding.” Invites will be sent to remaining classmates via Facebook.
  • Bathtastic (DIY, 9pm):  “A single mother of three upgrades her large bathroom into a relaxing retreat complete with a fireplace.” A happy single mom is one who can relax near both her fireplace and her meds.
  • Escape to Chimp Eden (Animal, 10pm):  “The adult chimps are moved into a larger, less-confined enclosure, where they are able to indulge their innate wildness.” Woo hoo! More room for the keg!
  • Head Case (Starz, 10pm):  Season finale. “The finale finds Dr. Goode back in New York City, where she deals with new patient .” NBC’s Thursday ratings has been bothering him more than it should.

SUNDAY (5/24)
  • Diamonds (ABC, 9pm):  “Judy Davis stars as a U.S. senator whose daughter is killed in a diamond mine in Africa, which sets off a series of events all related to the lucrative - and dangerous - gem trade, including a power struggle at a fading South African firm, a boy attempting to flee war-torn Sierra Leone and a model’s career move in London.” Yeah - I didn’t watch the Leonardo Dicaprio version either.
  • The Tudors (Showtime, 9pm):  “Henry tires of the unattractive and uninteresting Anne of Cleves and takes on a mistress, the comely Katherine Howard, which rekindles his passion.” He’s just one woman away from being on .
  • Breaking Bad (AMC, 10pm):  “A new addition joins the White family was Walter Jr. attempts to help out his struggling family by launching a new Web site.” Too bad he didn’t come up with that idea before his dad become a drug dealer.
