Sunday February 24, 2008 12:58 pm

This Week on TV (2/25-3/2)

Men in Trees

(You can find our Post-Strike Television Schedule here.)

MONDAY (2/25)
  • A Raisin in the Sun (ABC, 8pm):  and the rest of his Broadway cast bring the play to the small screen.  I’m sorry - I believe his theater name is Sean Combs.
  • The Moment of Truth (FOX, 8pm):  Special night.  Apparently this episode is so controversial, the producers debated airing it.  Then they realized what network they were on and just went with it.
  • Welcome to the Captain (CBS, 8:30):  “Hope makes some new friends so she won’t be alone on Friday nights.” Their names?  Jack and Daniels.
  • Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (CW, 9pm):  “The women receive a surprise visit from JC Chasez.”  They, too, are wondering why he doesn’t have anything better to do.
TUESDAY (2/26)
  • American Idol (FOX, 8pm):  The Top 10 men perform.  I know what creeps me out about .  He reminds me of Christian from Project Runway.
  • The Biggest Loser: Couples (NBC, 8pm):  “One team is surprised with a trip to Las Vegas, where diets and workouts must be maintained without giving to temptation.”  That’s fine.  They’ll just replace one addiction with the gambling kind anyway.
  • Back to You (FOX, 9:30pm):  The series returns with a nice cushy spot behind Idol.  I’m guessing it will do quite well for itself.
  • Quarterlife (NBC, 10pm):  The internet hit comes to the small screen.  Will it have more than just a half life on TV?

WEDNESDAY (2/27)
  • America’s Next Top Model (CW, 8pm):  “One model’s revelation stuns the judges.”  This episode will be followed up by a special Tyra on transsexuals.
  • Wife Swap (ABC, 8pm):  “A stay-at-home mom who pampers her spouse and children trades places with a woman who leaves all domestic and parental responsibilities to her husband.”  A fight then ensues when stay-at-home mom refuses to leave House #2.
  • Men in Trees (ABC, 10pm):  The series returns from a long hiatus.  Didn’t know it was gone?  Well…it was.
  • Project Runway (Bravo, 10pm):  I know Christian’s the Fan Favorite, but I really want to see him lose.

THURSDAY (2/28)
  • Lost (ABC, 9pm):  “Desmond experiences unexpected side effects when he and Sayid hit turbulence on their way to the freighter.”  But he won’t die….right?  Because he would have foreseen that.
  • Celebrity Apprentice (NBC, 9pm):  “The teams must create a photo essay for a brand of body wash.”  I’m worried will bring Jenna Jameson in for this one.
  • Lipstick Jungle (NBC, 10pm):  “Wendy sets her sights on a film set in India and gives Victory a chance to design for the star actress.”  Uh oh.  Doesn’t she know that friends and work never mix?
  • Eli Stone (ABC, 10pm):  “Untimely visions send Eli to Hawaii.”  Oh, poor baby.

FRIDAY (2/29)
  • Gone Country (CMT, 8pm):  “The cast members head into the studio to record demos and later race ATVS.”  I’ve stopped trying to make sense of this show.
  • The Price is Right (CBS, 8pm):  In case it wasn’t clear, is now the Ryan Seacrest of Daytime TV.
  • My Big Redneck Wedding (CMT, 9pm):  “A couple decides to have their wedding at a demolition derby.”  Well, if that doesn’t reek of symbolism, I don’t know what does.

SUNDAY(3/2)
  • Oprah’s Big Give (ABC, 9pm):  Series premiere.  “The contestants are challenged to change the life of a complete stranger.”  If they need any help, I’d be happy to play the role of the unsuspecting stranger.
  • Unhitched (FOX, 9:30):  Series premiere.  This new comedy boasts the Farrelly Brothers as executive producers.  (Just in case that tells you anything.)
  • Here Comes the Newlyweds (ABC, 10pm):  “The husbands, while blindfolded, must determine which kiss belongs to his wife, and drive following his wife’s directions, without hitting obstacles, in order to add money to the final prize.”  Men must be given an incentive to listen to their wives.
  • Dirt (FX, 10pm):  Second season premiere.  Although I’ve never watched the show, I must give props.  At least she’s trying to stretch her acting range.  Aniston’s only got that likeable pretty girl thing down.
