Unfortunately for George, Izzie doesn’t have any plans to get off that elevator to join him in the light. Despite an active career on the big screen, Katherine Heigl will remain on the ABC show for now. Heigl, who at one point seemed seemed dissatisfied with the drama, recently expressed an interest in staying on. Since her option has now been picked up, she can aim for at least one more Emmy with that meaty cancer storyline of hers.
In non-death related news, a casting decision has been made on one other actor. Jessica Capshaw, who was originally slated as a recurring cast member, has just been promoted to series regular. Her character, Arizona Robbins, was brought on last season to fill the void Dr. Hahn’s exit created.
