Something big is happening on ABC Family. The cable network has been turning out a run of successful series in the past few years (The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Make It or Break It both logged impressive ratings when they debuted), and now ABC Family is ready to begin a huge new television project. Hairspray’s Nikki Blonsky will be featured in a 10-episode stint of Huge, a series based on the book by Sasha Paley.

The scripts for the series were penned by My So-Called Life creator Winnie Holzman and Savannah Dooley, which alone makes Huge extremely promising. The series will tackle body image issues in hour-long, dramatic installments. Hayley Hasselhoff (daughter to David) co-stars as Amber, a thinner girl at the Wellness Canyon weight-loss summer camp. The series follows a group of campers and counselors as they explore beauty and body weight.
