Nicki Minaj Worried About Her Image on ‘American Idol’

Nicki MinajNicki Minaj is scared her fans won't like her on American Idol. The "Moment For Life" singer - who is set to make her debut as a judge on the new season of the reality TV series when it hits screens early next year on January 16 - is worried she will come across as an unpleasant person on the show and won't even be able to watch herself.

"I'm scared. Maybe I shouldn't have been so like... It's hard for me to not say how I really feel. Everyone else is so nice. I was just thinking back about some things and I was like, 'I wonder if that was not so nice.' I don't think I'm going to be able to watch it. I'm going to be so nervous. But I know people are going to love it. I think it's a great dynamic," she said on Ryan Seacrest's radio show today.

The 29-yer-old singer admitted she thinks that brutal honesty is the best policy when it comes to the contestants on the show: "As an artist I've always grown more from the tougher criticism and so I would like to be that person and to try to help people get that thick skin and to really give it their all, because it is a competition."

Nicki also opened up about how her feud with judge Mariah Carey and said despite not getting along well they had great chemistry. "The chemistry of the judges, I feel it while I'm there. I think it's really different from anything we've seen before on Idol and people are going to like it," she said.

She also hinted the rivals might be on friendlier terms now and could even perform on the show together: "If she'll have me, I'll be there waiting."
