Mia Michaels Leaving So You Think You Can Dance ... Again

So You Think You Can Dance

Last October, choreographer Mia Michaels said she was leaving So You Think You Can Dance.

Three months later, she revealed that she would be returning as a judge.

Now, an entire season later, Mia has announced that she is leaving the program for a second time. (Seriously.)

"Last year when I was sitting on the [judges] panel, I knew it wasn't the right fit because I felt too glossy sitting on the panel," she explained to E!. "People were so focused on what I wore and my hair. I wanted to get dirty and back to the work. I am an artist and I'm a visionary. I need to paint my world now and not be constantly linked to So You think You Can Dance."

So does this mean we could possibly see her back as an occasional choreographer for the show? According to tweet she sent out recently, no.

And what will this mean for that vacant seat between Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman? "I heard they're bringing Mary Murphy back and I'm really happy for her," Michaels reported. "I've sat in that chair, but I feel like that was Mary's chair."

SYTYCD will return for Season 8 next summer.
