Hell’s Kitchen Heats Up On June 4

Gordon Ramsay FOX’s summer reality hit will return for a third season just as temperatures outside are starting to get hot. Can’t take the heat? Get into Hell’s Kitchen, where world-class chef is serving up much more than fine cuisine. If you still haven’t discovered Hell’s Kitchen, you’re missing out. Think more angry Brits like Simon Cowell should be on TV? Want to see the dreams of young hopefuls shattered? Then you’ll love Hell’s Kitchen – hell hath no fire like chef Gordon. Last season alone, he mouthed off to a customer, called one competing chef a “donkey,” and stormed from the kitchen in a fit of pique. No-holds-barred, Ramsay tells twelve competing chefs exactly what he thinks of them and their cooking – and it’s all fabulous.

They arrive in Hell’s Kitchen to learn under chef Ramsay in hopes of gaining a position coveted by all of them: Head Chef. Last year’s goal was that title at the brand-new Red Rock Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, a prize package including part ownership of the restaurant. In last seasons, young chefs (many with little experience in their chosen field) had to cook on-the-spot for their first meeting with chef Ramsay. It’s here they got their first taste of Ramsay, who displays no regard for the personal pride or feelings of others. He’s can’t – he isn’t there to hold their hands and help them improve, but to force them to improve by brutally pointing out what they’re doing wrong. Every week, another chef is sent home, until only two remain.

It’s the journey that makes the show. Chefs are split into teams of two during the first episodes, competing against each other to win various excursions away from the heat of Hell’s Kitchen. The losing team is forced to perform the most unsavory tasks – some of last year’s punishments included unloading stock and gruesome kitchen cleaning details.

This season, Ramsay will bring even more heat to the fire as a crop of twelve new chefs get roasted and raked over the coals of the kitchen. They’ll have to pull off dinner services to tables filled with hungry guests, and they’ll have to do it to Gordon’s satisfaction – starting on the first day. The series has performed well for FOX in the past, drawing an average of more than seven million viewers per week in Season 2. Hell’s Kitchen will return to its regular Monday night time slot beginning on June 4, 2007. It’s hot outside, but even hotter in Hell’s Kitchen.
