Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

FlashForward: It was recently announced that Dominic Monaghan would be joining another Lost vet, Sonya Walger (a.k.a. Penny Widmore), on the new ABC series. In the program, everyone in the world experiences a 2 minute, 17 second blackout. During that time, they see a glimpse of their future. Meanwhile, Gabrielle Union (Ugly Betty) has also been added to the long list of actors. Other cast members include Joseph Fiennes, John Cho, and Courtney B. Vance.

Gossip Girl: Tyra Banks has previously been seen overacting on both her talk show and America’s Next Top Model. Now she’s taking her dramatic skills to GG. The reality and daytime host will play Ursula Nyquist, a “larger-than-life” actress. Serena, as a publicist working for Nyquist’s new movie, gets the unfortunate job of handling the diva. Banks will appear on the October 5 episode.

United States of Tara: Chasing Amy‘s Joey Lauren Adams will once again be chasing after girls…and guys. Adams will be jumping on board the Showtime program next year as Pammy, a girl who falls for Buck, one of Toni Collette’s personalities. No start date has yet been announced for Season 2.

House: Run, Lola, Run star Franka Potente will be sitting in on the two-hour premiere. While it’s unclear what role the German actress will play, the season opener will reportedly focus on House’s time away at the institution. The series makes its return on September 21.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager: Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson will make a repeat appearance on the ABC Family program. Johnson, who first guested in 2008, will play one of Jack and Grace’s high school classmates. The episode will air sometime in 2010.

The Tudors: Actress Joely Richardson will have the honor of being attached to yet another playboy. The Nip/Tuck has been picked to play Catherine Parr,  the sixth - and final - wife of Henry VIII. Richardson will appear in five episodes of the program’s final season. Filming on the Showtime drama is currently underway in Dublin.
