Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

Fringe: Fans of the freshman series will see more familial drama in the new year. According to Entertainment Weekly, Olivia will soon get an unexpected knock on her door from her sister. Man troubles force Ari Graynor (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) and her daughter to bum a space her older sibling’s couch. Graynor will take up residence for at least three episodes.

Reaper: Despite her death on Desperate Housewives, Lupe Ontiveros will live on in the CW series. Fortunately for her, she’ll still be playing a human. Ontiveros, who played Carlos’ mother on the ABC program, will join the cast as Ben’s grandmother. Reaper will return to the schedule on March 17.

CSI: New York: Is there anyone out there who likes Mac Taylor these days? First, there was the serial killer who was out to find anyone with that same name. Now Gary Sinise has to face Coach. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Craig T. Nelson will guest on three episodes of the CBS drama as a publishing magnate who isn’t exactly only Mac’s Christmas list.

Gossip Girl: Could there be another adult/teenager pairing in Gossip Girl‘s future? Laura Breckenridge (Related) has just been cast as a young addition to Constance Billard’s staff. The English teacher - who is initially mistaken for a pupil - will apparently find herself at odds with Miss Blair Waldorf. Breckenridge will be around for at least three episodes.

Grey’s Anatomy: Seattle Grace will soon be making room for two patients with long-term stays. Next month, Eric Stoltz (Pulp Fiction) will play a serial killer in need of a little medical help. Stoltz - who also also done some Grey‘s directing - will annoy the residents for three episodes. Meanwhile, Jennifer Westfeldt (Notes from the Underbelly) will also be around for a multi-episode arc.

90210: Friday Night Light‘s Aimee Teegarden will be pulling double duty when she takes a trip over to the new zip code. Aimee is currently scheduled to appear in one episode as a student who “crosses paths” with Ethan at West Beverly.

CSI: Miami: She just couldn’t stay away. Although she recently left the series she helped kick off, Khandi Alexander will be back once more. TV Guide reports that Medical Examiner Alexx Woods will return sometime next year for a one episode stint. The circumstances behind her appearance are currently unknown. (I really hope this doesn’t mean that Horatio will be faking his death again.)
