Casting Corner: Boston Legal, CSI: NY, House and More

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

CSI: NY: To celebrate its 100th outing, CSI: NY will be doing it old-school Terminator style. In the sweeps episode, several guest stars - including Rumer Willis, Daughtry and Scott Wolf - will become targets of a serial killer. In the original Terminator, women named Sarah Connor became Arnold Schwarzenegger’s targets. This time around, the suspect is aiming to knock off those named Mac Taylor. (That would be the name of Gary Sinise’s character.) You can expect the star-studded episode to air on November 19.

Samantha Who?: If you’re one of those who’d rather see a Duran Duran reunion than a NKOTB concert, this news might be of interest to you. Guitarist John Taylor will be making a personal tour stop on an episode of the ABC comedy. While it’s unclear whether he’ll be an object of Applegate’s affections, we do know that he’ll be stretching his limits to play a rocker. (At least he’s sticking with what he knows.)

Boston Legal: Saturday Night Live alum Cheri Oteri has just filmed a cameo on another goofball show. The actress - who most recently appeared in Jessica Simpson’s Major Movie Star - will soon be hitting the offices of Boston Legal. She’ll play a woman who seeks James Spader’s help after wrongly being fired. Maybe he can help get her back on SNL while he’s at it.

Eli Stone: Although Katie Holmes has already filmed an appearance on the ABC drama, it’s another woman who’ll be catching Eli Stone’s eye. Mr. Big’s former wife, Bridget Moynahan, has just been tapped to play a possible love interest for the title character. How long she’ll be sticking around for is unknown.

Nip/Tuck: Even though he’s currently got his hands full with hosting gigs on both Extra! and Top Pop Group, Mario Lopez still has time to devote to actually acting. Lopez recently revealed that he will be making a return visit as Dr. Mike Hamoui to Nip/Tuck. The last time he was on on the show, he ended up showing off a bit of skin in the gym’s shower…

House: Those wondering where Lori Petty (A League of Their Own) ran off to might be surprised to know that she is still alive and well…at least for now. The actress is currently scheduled for a multi-episode arc on House. Petty will play a woman with Huntington’s disease, the terminal illness that Thirteen also has. Meanwhile, a recent Emmy-winner is also slated to check into the hospital. Zeljko Ivanek (Damages) tells TV Guide his character will be forced to take a few people hostage. (Only House could make someone that angry.)

90210: Who knew you could cram so many characters onto one show? Last week, we told you about a new transfer student hitting West Beverly. Now we’re getting word of another addition. Michael Trevino - formerly on The Riches - will be joining the cast as a student named Ozzie. Let me guess, he’ll be the third guy vying for Annie’s affections…
