Sharapova Ousted from Aussie Open

I am not going to deny it, I was rooting for Sharapova to win the Australian Open.  At least she made it to the final four and lost in the Semi-finals to Justine Henin-Hardenne in three sets.  Henin-Hardenne is definitely not someone to be ashamed to lose to, she is a four time Grand Slam Winner.  The reason I want Sharapova to have success is that I hope she doesn’t turn into the next Anna Kournikova. You know, as in the ‘Oh I’m good looking, I don’t need tennis, I’ll just be a celebrity’ type mindset that makes you stop being a great player.

Henin-Hardenne will face Amelie Mauresmo in the finals. Mauresmo beat Kim Clijsters as she retired from the match due to an ankle injury.  Clijsters gave it a good run, considering all the injuries she had to endure throughout the tournament.
