Paul Reiser Trashes NBC to Jay Leno

Paul Reiser was originally scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote his new NBC series, The Paul Reiser Show. But the network didn’t cancel his appearance after they cancelled his show. The series was nixed after just two episodes, and Reiser didn’t bother to hide his disenchantment with the network… even on one of their own shows. “They don’t traditionally make bad decisions,” he said of the network, tongue-in-cheek, to …

American Idol 10: Top 7 Results

American Idol’s Thursday results show opened with an epic montage of the judges (Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson) falling over themselves to praise this year’s contestants. The clip ended with J-Lo crying “anybody could win!” That’s the show’s current angle: there are no standouts, because all the singers as so sensational. It’s patently untrue, of course. Scotty McCreery has dominated his fellow contestants in Twitter followers all season long, and James Durbin is constantly …

Mover than 53 million votes were recorded after American Idol’s Tuesday performance round, but one of the Top 8 failed to score a big enough share to survive the night. Before any results were revealed, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina again paired up to deliver a duet of “American Honey,” originally by Lady Antebellum. They sound wonderful together, and the number was perfect. They’ll be performing a lot of duets together over the summer, when …

Tuesday’s American Idol opened with a re-cap of Pia Toscano’s surprising elimination, which caused a Twitter flurry and upset the three judges last week. But this week, she’s gone -- for better or worse. And the Top 8 performers carried on without her, because Idol’s show must go on. The show took time to pay tribute to J-Lo, who has just been named as People’s Most Beautiful Woman. Perhaps it’s appropriate that she be celebrated …

Stephen Colbert has challenged his nation, and once again Comedy Central viewers have answered… on Twitter. On his Colbert Report, the host called attention to an argument made by Senate Minority Whip John Kyl (R-Ariz) in which Kyl claimed that 90% of Planned Parenthood’s business is in abortions. Actually, the number is much closer to 3%. By way of correcting the mistake, Kyl’s office released a statement explaining that the Senator’s comment was “not intended …
