If you’ve found yourself without a plan on this Labor Day Weekend, there’s a new way to keep yourself busy online. Earlier this week, viewers of the old WB were given a free way to watch some of their now-cancelled shows. At TheWB.com, fans can access programs just like they would on any other network-sponsored site. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Smallville, Angel, Everwood, Roswell, One Tree Hill and Gilmore Girls are amongst the selections offered. Meanwhile, …

Mischa Barton a Rumored Gossip Girl

Although she was killed off her last show, Mischa Barton has apparently been invited to join another Joss Schwartz series: Gossip Girl. The O.C. native was asked to star as Georgina Sparks, a character who would bring Serena’s not-so-wholesome past to the forefront.  Although I was initially apprehensive upon hearing the news - I’d really like to see the CW program survive on its own merits - I quickly had a change of heart.  If stunt …

Celebrity Double-Take: Kelly Rutherford vs. Kelly Rowan

Okay - it’s now time for another one of my random celebrity pairings.  Today, we have Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford (on the left) with The O.C.‘s Kelly Rowan (on the right). In addition to looking alike, these ladies have several other similarities. Both women are obviously named Kelly. Both have the initials K.R. Both actresses play(ed) rich mothers on a Josh Schwartz-produced show.  (Which completely threw me off because I once thought Kelly Rowan had …

The O.C. to Take Final Bow

There was a lot of speculation about what would become of The O.C. once Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton) was killed off. Looks like the show, which was given an abbreviated order for season four, will be wrapping up in late February. Fox announced Wednesday that The O.C. was canned, and the season finale will be the series finale. The last episode (ever!) of The O.C. will air February 22nd. O.C. creator and executive producer Josh …

Fall Programming Begins Now

ATTENTION TIVO USERS:  IT’S TIME TO START FIRING UP THOSE SEASON PASSES.. The official start of Fall may still be a month away,  but fall programming for the major networks begins tomorrow.  Okay—maybe only for one network.  Forced to deal with the upcoming Major League Baseball playoffs, FOX is hoping to whet our appetites now by teasing us with their lineup.  Once we’re properly addicted, the network will then regular interrupt our candy intake with …

Fox’s rich kid drama “The O.C.” is moving to a new night! The network has only ordered 16 new episodes of the hit show, instead of the usual 22, possibly indicating that the end is near for the show. Fox has also announced that rather than put “The O.C.” up against hit shows “CSI” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” which will both be airing at 9 PM Thursday in the 2006-2007 season, the show will now air on …

So he’s more than just a pretty face: fan favorite Adam Brody—Seth on The O.C.—is developing his own project. The pilot, which would air on NBC, follows the misadventures of a rookie cop who must fight vampire crime in a city infested with bloodsuckers. It certainly sounds intriguing; no doubt fans will anxiously await the result. Though it’s Brody’s first time behind the scenes of a television series, he already has film experience, as co-producer of …

Everybody Hates Chris Deemed Family-Friendly

While I’ve never really cared what the Parents Television Council had to say about my TV viewing, I’ve always been fascinated by their opinions.  So when they put out their “Top Ten Best and Worst Shows for Family Viewing,” I listen.  Entertainment Weekly may have their ‘5 Great New Shows to Watch’ issue, but the PTC’s list of worst offenders lets me know what I’m really missing out on! Criticized for their use of bad language, …
