Friday Ratings: ABC Has Animated Evening

Would ABC be smart to air cartoons every Friday night? The weekend’s broadcast of Shrek the Third helped give the network a rare tie in the 18-49s. CBS, though, was still a solo winner with the viewers. 8pm Ghost Whisperer (8.4 million, 2.0/7 in 18-49) raised another 400,000. Law & Order (7.5 million, 1.5/5) remained steady. Shrek the Third (1.9/6) attracted 6.3 million to ABC. House* (3.3 million, 1.0/4) fell by 200,000. Smallville (2.5 million, 1.1/4) …

Friday Ratings: Business as Usual for CBS

An evening without a Rihanna-esque interview is just your typical boring Friday night. CBS’ lineup easily held off its contenders to win both the viewers and the demos. 8pm Ghost Whisperer (8 million, 2.0/7 in 18-48) was on par with last week. Law & Order (7.5 million, 1.7/6) dipped by a 1/2 milion. Supernanny (5 million, 1.4/5) raised another 200,000. House* (3.5 million, 1.1/4) was off by 400,000. Smallville (2.7 million, 1.2/4) lost 100,000....

Monday Ratings: Audiences Welcome Back House

After a few weeks on the bench, House returned in fine form last night. The drama gave FOX a win in the demos yesterday while ABC was first with the viewers. 8pm Dancing with the Stars (17.7 million, 3.6/9) was the most-watched show of the night. House (12.8 million, 5.1/13 in 18-49) had the evening’s best demos. How I Met Your Mother (9 million, 3.5/9) did about the same; Accidentally on Purpose (8.2 million, 3.0/7) was …

Friday Ratings: Rihanna Performs for ABC

Whether she’s singing on stage or sitting down for an interview, Rihanna knows how to draw an audience. Her emotional 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer scored the best demos of the night. 8pm Law & Order (8 million, 1.8/6 in 18-49) picked up 1 million. Ghost Whisperer (7.9 million, 1.8/6) fell by 800,000. Supernanny (4.8 million, 1.3/4) remained steady. House* (3.9 million, 1.2/4) was up slightly. Smallville (2.8 million, 1.2/4) added on 200,000....

Friday Ratings: Smallville Shows Strength

Every once in a while a move to Fridays isn’t such a bad thing. Although some shows have been known to fade away, CW’s Smallville actually hit a season high with the 18-49s this weekend. That performance, of course, didn’t keep CBS from winning in both the viewers and the demos. 8pm Ghost Whisperer (8.3 million, 2.0/7 in 18-49) was down by 200,000. Law & Order (7 million, 1.4/5) also fell by 200,000. Supernanny (4.8 million, …

Monday Ratings: CBS Edges Past FOX

Even though House was still hot with the 18-49s, it got little help from Lie to Me. FOX came in a close second to CBS last night in the demos while ABC was on top with the viewers. 8pm Dancing with the Stars (3.5/9 in 18-49) averaged 16.5 million over two hours. House (5.0/13) treated 12.9 million. How I Met Your Mother (3.5/9) attracted 8.6 million; Accidentally on Purpose (3.0/7) scored 7.8 million. Heroes (2.4/6) pulled …

Monday Ratings: Trauma Needs Assistance

NBC needs some help, stat! Yesterday’s series premiere of Trauma did nothing for the Peacock network’s health on Mondays. The medical drama pulled in numbers smaller than last fall’s stinker, My Own Worst Enemy. By night’s end, ABC was on top with the viewers while FOX was 1st in the demos. 8pm Dancing with the Stars (16.7 million, 3.7/9 in 18-49) slipped by 800,000. House (14.4 million, 5.7/15) had the evening’s best demos. How I Met …

Star of the hit medical drama House, British actor Hugh Laurie claims that he has developed health issues from the fake limp he portrays on the show. “The show might last through to series seven, eight or nine but I don’t know if I will because I’m starting to lose my knees. It’s a lot of hip work. There are things going badly wrong. I need to do yoga.” The knees aren’t the only problems …
