Hayden Panettiere Won’t Return for ‘Heroes: Reborn’

Hayden Panettiere was "shocked" to find out about the new Heroes series. The 24-year-old actress - who played teen cheerleader Claire Bennet from 2006-2010 in the original show - has not been asked to join the recently-announced miniseries Heroes: Reborn and only found out about the project from a family member. "It was a shock to me. In fact, I believe I became privy to that through my cousin. She sent me a text message …

Zachary Quinto Disappointed by Heroes Movie Fate

Although he has a bright future ahead of him in the Star Trek movie franchise, Zachary Quinto is disappointed about one movie won’t be able to make. Quinto, who rose to fame as Sylar in NBC’s former hit Heroes, admits he’s disappointed the series won’t be allowed one final chapter. “It’s disappointing that there was such a lack of resolution,” Zachary told EW. “But unfortunately that’s just the nature of network television….Nothing really surprises me …

No Final Movie for Heroes

I guess Hayden Panettiere won’t need to grow out her hair anytime soon. According to a source, a movie that could have given Heroes fans closure won’t be happening after all. The project had been considered a possibility when the show was canceled after Season 4. Earlier this summer, Tim Kring spoke to EW about the movie’s status. “No decision has been made,” the show’s creator said. “But the Heroes brand is an extremely broad premise. …

The Cape Trailer Premieres, Disappoints

NBC’s Heroes replacement, The Cape, recently premiered its full-length trailer. While I may not have agreed with where Heroes ended up, at least its initial premise beat this one’s: good cop gets framed and is left for dead; guy is found by a clandestine group who trains him to be a superhero; superhero fights crime. One might say that it’s to be expected, it’s a superhero series. True, but isn’t that what we have comic books …

Monday Ratings: Post-Game Boost for Big Bang

Did viewers simply forget to change the channel? Yesterday’s programming slate on CBS appeared to have benefitted nicely from Sunday night’s game. Although Monday’s comedies are typically strong, several shows saw their best numbers in quite some time. 8pm House (13.5 million, 5.1/13 in 18-49) slid by 700,000. The Bachelor (12.3 million, 4.1/10) reached season highs. How I Met Your Mother (3.8/10) kicked off the night with 10.1 million. Accidentally on Purpose (3.4/8) scored 9.2 million. …

(Make sure to check out TV Envy’s Programming Schedule.)  MONDAY (2/8) Bank of Hollywood (E!, 8pm):  “Contestants include a daredevil in a wheelchair, an aspiring soap actress and a bodybuilding grandma.” The actress’ Guiding Light severance checks eventually disqualified her from the program. Heroes (NBC, 9pm):  “Hiro reviews his past choices and takes action to stop a catastrophe.” If he can make it as far back as Season 2, he might be able to save …

Monday Ratings: Castle is on a High

Do fans need to help “save” Castle anymore? Last night, the ABC program - which faced a CBS repeat - earned series-high numbers. Could this be a one-time thing? Or will the trend continue? The mystery deepens… 8pm House (14.2 million, 5.2/13 in 18-49) had the best numbers of the night. The Bachelor (11.4 million, 3.9/10) added on 800,000. Chuck (6.9 million, 2.5/6) was up by 200,000. How I Met Your Mother* (2.1/6) pulled in 6.1 …
