The FOX network has announced upcoming pilots, and with the news comes casting details. First up is a drama, called Supreme Courtships, starring Shane West. West can currently be seen on E.R. and was a cast member of ABC’s Once and Again. Of course, no word on whether or not West will stay on E.R. With a name like Supreme Courtships, you can kind of guess the subject matter—Supreme Court clerks and their relationships. FOX also …

Categories: News,

Soon after news broke that Anna Nicole Smith had collapsed in a Florida hotel, it was reported that the tabloid favorite had died. Smith, who was born Vickie Lynn Hogan, first became famous for her Guess jeans ads and Playboy centerfold spread. Later, she provided a steady stream of tabloid material when she married an 89-year-old oil tycoon. She remained in the spotlight as the legal battle for his fortune continued. At one point, she …

Paula Abdul Sued Over Reality Show

Oh Paula, what trouble have you gotten into now? Paula Abdul has certainly gotten her fair share of attention lately—unfortunately, it’s not for anything too positive. Her wacky comments and slurred speech on American Idol, as well as her less-than-coherent television interview have all brought criticisms. Now add another kookoo item to the list: Abdul is being sued by a production company, saying that she took their reality concept and shopped it elsewhere. The company …

Author William Cane (real name Michael Christian) is widely considered to be the foremost authority on kissing.  His best-selling book, The Art of Kissing, put him on the map in the early nineties and helped spur several similar ventures, including a DVD about kissing, a book of kiss-related celebrity quotes, and The Art of Hugging.  Cane’s newest foray, however, focuses more specifically on kissing in the movies.  Kiss Like a Star: Smooching Secrets from the Silver …

Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who will always be Zach from Saved by the Bell to me, has signed on for a new CBS drama. The series, which so far is untitled, centers around Los Angeles public defenders. Gosselaar will play the lead role, as a young attorney who chooses to be a public defender rather than running for Congress. Janeane Garofalo is on board as well, although it’s less clear what her role will be. The drama comes …

Sarah Silverman Has a Hit on Comedy Central

Way to go, Sarah Silverman. Her show, The Sarah Silverman Program was a ratings winner for Comedy Central. The show debuted last Thursday, bringing in about 1.8 million viewers and was the most watched primetime cable show for viewers ages 18-49. This marks the biggest debut for an original program on Comedy Central since Drawn Together debuted in 2004. I saw Silverman’s show and really enjoyed it. I’ve read some criticism of her online that …

Kirstie Alley Returns to TV

Kirstie Alley has been gracing the TV quite a lot, what with her Showtime series Fat Actress, the Jenny Craig ads, and the appearance on Oprah. This time, however, she’s back on network television, playing the lead in The Minister of Divine, a British remake of the comedy The Vicar of Dibley. I just love the word “vicar,” and I don’t really know why, other than it just sounds funny when the Brits say it. …

How Did Peter Petrelli Regenerate?

At the risk of spoiling part of last night’s episode of Heroes, I felt like talking about it a bit, because this was a pivotal moment in the series that hints at many things to come. Namely, for the first time, Peter was able to use a power acquired from someone else, without being in the vicinity of the person. So how did it happen? As we saw in the show last night, Mr. Invisible threw …

Justin Timberlake is a kids’ favorite, so why not let the singer/actor host Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards? This is the 20th installment of the awards program, which lets kids pick their faves among movies, TV, music, sports, books, and video games. Wow, 20 years doesn’t even seem right. Has Nickelodeon even been around that long? At any rate, Timberlake, who has won the Kids’ Choice award for Best Burp twice, will get to show his worth …

If you’ve felt a void in your life for a couple of months, you’re about to feel whole again. That’s right, Lost returns this week—and get ready for a no-repeat ride all the way until the season finale. Season three of Lost had a huge split, in an effort to produce two chunks of the show, without reruns. To cushion the loss, ABC brought us Day Break, which was promptly canceled after just a handful …
