  • That price is pretty nice! But I must say that buyer beware, you'll STILL have to pay a monthly service fee to use tivo! Now, you do have to pay a monthly fee with a DVR from your cable company, but having the tuner built in is a pretty big deal IMO and you don't have to pay any additional upfront costs (unlike tivo). Disclaimer: I have a DVR from a cable company and love it :)

  • "Well, one game describer is a 3-on-1 minigame where the lone player must yell 'Fire!' into the microphone to attack the other three players. Now, why can't this just be done with a controller again?" I dunno about you, but when I yell into my controller it doesn't seem to make the character on the screen do anything different. Maybe I bought the wrong type of controller? Perhaps the Nintendo DS' microphone can come in handy here? :P

  • Good job guys :) Very cool idea. However I think you should remove the links once they are used because they reveal the email address of the person who has signed up for the account! Either remove or redirect the links to a "ohnos you missed it" page or something :)

  • Great review, I am an Explorer 8000 owner and I agree 100%! However, BEWARE! The software (as shown in the screenshot) that was loaded on your DVR is not the same software loaded on EVERY Explorer 8000! The software loaded on your DVR is called Passport Echo and is an extension of Pioneer's Passport electronic program guide. While many other people who get the Explorer 8000, like myself, might get SARA-- which is software written by Scientific Atlanta. While its functional, its just not as pretty or feature rich as Passport Echo. See for yourself the difference: Passport echo: http://www.pioneerbroadband.com/passportecho/ SARA: http://www.scientificatlanta.com/Demo/dvr/dvr.html And http://www.pvrcompare.com/sciatlimages.html All I can say is while the SARA software is great, the Passport Echo software is AWESOME. Even still, if your cable company is gonna give you a SARA box its still worth it, in my opinion!
