  • Last summer there was a power outage overnight and I had my Xbox 360 plugged in. The next day I went to go turn it on and it wouldnt turn on! Come to find out the power surge had messed with the power supply and so I had to get it replaced. Long story short, we even had a surge protector and it still messed it up, so maybe this little device could have saved my poor Xbox :(

  • We are starting to see the cell phone and computer merge even more, but I don't think this specifically will be the future. Yes, we will be able to buy things on the go in the future, but I imagine a world with WiFi mesh and cheap data plans where people just use a full-featured browser like on the iPhone to go to the Amazon site and purchase something

  • I agree, this is a huge step backwards in trying to go green with our technology... just like the one-use DVDs, there should not be any one use items anymore which we can avoid because it is going to contribute so much to our trash. Just come out with a phone that is pay-as-you-go and you would never need a disposable phone!

  • That was a really smart move on Amazon's part! We almost bought an HD DVD over the winter break because we needed to upgrade our DVD player, but we decided to hold off and am glad that we did, otherwise we would have wasted a bunch of money...

  • I really hate this idea to be honest. Disney was thinking about doing this for awhile as well, but it is such a waste of resources! Think of all the trash that is going to come out of all of this... these companies claim they want to be green, and now we are moving in the opposite direction :(

  • Thats ridiculous... the university should have given you an extension! I completely agree with you. I know at my university you can request overrides into classes by contacting the professors directly. Does your university offer something like that?
