      Andru Edwards is the CEO of Gear Live Media, a weblog publishing company which contains some of the most popular technology and pop culture blogs on the Web, including it’s flagship blog, Gear Live.

Through his passion for both writing and the subject matter, Andru took his blogs from a part-time hobby to a full-time successful company.

Andru and his blogs have been quoted in USA Today, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Seattle Times, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, KOMO 4 News, Q13 News, KING 5 News, and NPR, among others.

  • If I may clarify, Travis - it wasn't ME who dropped it in the toilet and had to fish it out - it was our son. Had it been me, I would have just let it go...unless it was a sandwich. In which case, you HAVE to get it out of there.

  • Spence, Not sure I understand what you mean by previous record of the internal sources, but these are the facts: 1) Yes, I got that specific image from two unrelated, internal Microsoft employees, who work in Xbox Studios. I live in Seattle, and if you are out here, pretty much 1/4 of the people you know work at Microsoft. 2) One of the two documents I got was VERY detailed...but they asked me not to post it. I honor that, so I didn't. The second one I got, the image above, matched PART of the first document I got, and that is when I decided to run the story. That being said, why is there a question mark? Because, until it's publicly announced by Microsoft, there is no way I can say it is 100% confirmed. That would also be an amateur move. Instead, I am allowing you to judge for yourself.

  • How about the fact that we remain professional when we DON'T upload something that someone gives us and SPECIFICALLY asks us not to upload? Seems it would be more of an amateur move to just go ahead and publish, and thusly break our word.

  • Oh, I know - we were aiming to let the viewer see the screen mostly without us having to go back and forth front to back, so we had to choose that angle since we didnt have a double camera angle setup ;) We appreciate the feedback!

  • Hi Roger, The comment was meant to go towards the blogosphere as a whole, as it has gone up in arms over this thing, not you in particular. More for your readers ;) Also, I am totally in agreement with you on the performance rating thing. I was very surprised to find the laptops were just 2.8. The media center that they sent me is a 5.9 - I am curious about the difference in PC. What criteria they used to determine who would get what, or if it was random, would be interesting to know. In any event, take no offense to what I said there - wasn't directed at you at all :)
