—Country-pop singer Taylor Swift strikes a pose on the cover of July’s Marie Claire. For once, she isn’t wearing a sparkling, glitter-happy dress.
—Those who have thought that women larger than size 6 can’t look good in a bathing suit have been put to shame: French Marie Claire is making huge waves with their June issue, which features plus-sized models in a swimsuit editorial.
—Apparently Miley Cyrus isn’t the only Disney star who needs lessons in stylish shoe walking. Vanessa Hudgens nearly took a fall from walking in her ankle boots.
—Fashion blogger BryanBoy alerted the internet and his Twitter followers about a Swedish threesome he was involved in. More proof that bloggers can have interesting and scandalous lives.
—Twilight actress and paparazzi target Kristen Stewart was seen promoting Eclipse in Seoul, South Korea with extra-long hair extensions. After her post-The Runaways mullet debacle, I’m relieved to see her do something to her hair for a change.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Talks for Halston Gig

Carrie Bradshaw
Sarah Jessica Parker is rumored to be in line for a consulting job with Halston. The Sex and the City actress - who is often regarded as one of the most stylish women of her generation - is believed to be in talks about working with the coveted US fashion range as either the “creative director” or “design director.”
E! Online reported: “We hear that the Sex and the City fashion icon may end up with a much bigger role at the revived design house. A source tells us that Parker may actually land some sort of consulting gig with Halston. Titles being bantered about include creative director and design director.”
Last September, the website claimed Sarah - who was pictured on the set of the Sex and the City sequel wearing a white dress from the Halston Heritage Spring 2010 collection - was in talks over a major endorsement deal with the coveted label.
Another source added, “There’s quite a lot of vintage Halston in the movie.”
Sarah released her own line Bitten in 2007 and has had great success with her range of perfumes.
Jennifer Connelly Recycles Clothes
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Rumors,
A true green woman, Jennifer Connelly still wears shoes she bought when she was fifteen.
The 38-year-old actress hates throwing away clothes as she thinks that it is wasteful, but admits she sometimes keeps items for too long.
“I tend to recycle. I have Doc Martens I’ve had since I was 15 that I still wear. I have to retire them soon because they are falling apart!”
Although Jennifer has become known for her show-stopping red-carpet looks—she wore a green jewel-encrusted Balmain minidress to the premiere of He’s Just Not That Into You earlier this year—she insists that her favorite outfit is comfortable jeans teamed with a T-shirt and boots.
She also finds shopping stressful, admitting her determination to find the perfect piece sometimes ruins trips to stores: “I like nice things, and I’m quite considered in my taste and thorough in my decisions. I have little patience for shopping because I get overwhelmed. There is too much stimulus and choice.”
Jennifer is not the only star who likes to recycle her clothes—Katy Perry doesn’t agree with throwing pieces away just because they are old and prefers to wear clothes from several seasons ago. “I get upset when designers won’t lend me something from three seasons ago because I’m like, ‘That was your better season. This season sucks,’” the “I Kissed a Girl” singer said.
Daily Deal: Vintage Miriam Haskell Pearl and Boxchain Necklace
Posted by Katie Gutierrez Painter Categories: Fashion,
Today’s deals come in the form of interesting multi-strand pearl necklaces, which I’ve been obsessed with lately. They’re a modern, young way to rock this classic gemstone—a far cry from Sandra D.! I’d wear them with a casual, soft, slightly loose white t-shirt, gray skinny jeans, and—of course—a great heel; I’m thinking black patent platform peep-toes. Add a metallic clutch and a little liquid liner, and you’re good to go! Enjoy!
Designer Deal
I’m loving this vintage Miriam Haskell baroque pearl, boxchain, and rhinestone necklace—a gorgeous piece that evokes the feeling of pulling a forgotten treasure from your stylish grandmother’s jewelry box. Haskell is known for stunning, hand-crafted jewelry, and is also the powerhouse behind department store jewelry lines O Oscar (by Oscar de la Renta) and Kenneth Cole. Similar designs are priced on her site for $700, but you can find this necklace at rubylane.com for $325.
Look-alike Steals:
We have two look-alike steals today! The first is this Betsey Johnson long, five-strand necklace with faux pearls, gold tone, and crystal accents. We all know Betsey Johnson for her bright, offbeat, always feminine and joyful clothing line that isn’t entirely wearable for a lot of women. This necklace, however, is very wearable—and adorable. Even better, it’s 20% off on Zappos for a total of $103.
Now, check out this Kenneth Jay Lane piece for
QVC. A couple of obvious differences: We’re working with a gunmetal finish here and a bit of a shorter length—the nine strands fall around 20”. I love Kenneth Jay Lane for his affordable but still high-end, feminine, and unique designs. This is no exception. Retailed at $95, the necklace is on sale at QVC for $69.50.
Happy shopping!
The origins of Rachel Zoe vintage boho style
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, News,
Rachel Zoe created her iconic vintage boho style as a poor teenager.
The Hollywood stylist - who has helped stars such as Mischa Barton, Nicole Richie and Keira Knightley develop their chic wardrobes - was forced to come up with affordable fashion ideas while she was broke. She said: “As soon as I was old enough to shop I fell in love with vintage. When I was younger, as a teenager, I used to ask myself how I could get this glamour for, like, not thousands and thousands of dollars. Ultimately, that answer kept coming back up as vintage. How could I get those vintage fur coats, that peasant dress or kaftan. That’s when I fell in love with vintage. For me, it became the way that I could get that unique piece that no one else could have.”
