American Idol 10: Top 6 Perform
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Video,
Carole King was the theme of American Idol’s Top 6 week. King is an extremely successful singer-songwriter with a wide catalog of music… but she’s also a repeat Idol subject, and a theme inspiration in a year that we were told would be free of them. If they’re going to renege on their promises, Idol could at least find a brand-new theme to exploit. There are no shortage of good songs to pick from Ms. King's collection, however, as the night eventually proved. Babyface was the week’s mentor. Carole King is among the many, many recording artists the hitmaker has worked with.
All the usual suspects were there, and the season's current standout continued to impress judges and audience members alike. But which contender showed a surprisingly different side on Carole King night? Keep reading to get the full recap...

Paul Reiser Trashes NBC to Jay Leno

Paul Reiser was originally scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote his new NBC series, The Paul Reiser Show. But the network didn’t cancel his appearance after they cancelled his show. The series was nixed after just two episodes, and Reiser didn’t bother to hide his disenchantment with the network… even on one of their own shows.
“They don’t traditionally make bad decisions,” he said of the network, tongue-in-cheek, to the (current) Tonight Show host. Leno has had his own troubles with NBC, but managed to get re-hired after he was fired from his TV show. We're not sure the same will happen to Reiser.

American Idol 10: Top 7 Results
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Video,
American Idol’s Thursday results show opened with an epic montage of the judges (Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson) falling over themselves to praise this year’s contestants. The clip ended with J-Lo crying “anybody could win!”
That’s the show’s current angle: there are no standouts, because all the singers as so sensational. It’s patently untrue, of course. Scotty McCreery has dominated his fellow contestants in Twitter followers all season long, and James Durbin is constantly singled out as the group’s best in the press.

What do Nick Swardson, Aziz Ansari and Danny McBride have in common with Jesse Eisenberg? Somehow, he’s managed to end up in a movie with the other three. The actor, who has made a mark playing awkward outcasts, may have some comedic chops.
Eisenberg will be playing a pizza delivery man in 30 Minutes or Less, victimized by Swardson and McBride in a delivery gone awry. Ansari plays his best buddy. Watch the trailer in the video above.

American Idol 10: Top 7 Perform
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Video,
The Top 7 received a standing ovation from the in-house crowd as they stepped out onto the American Idol stage, and the show was off to an energetic start for the Wednesday performance round. The theme of the night was Songs of the 21st Century, which gave the Idols a wide range of recent music to select.
But before they could perform, the ousted Idols opened the show with “So What.” The group included Naima Adedapo, Ashton Jones, Karen Rodriguez, Thia Megia and the show’s two most recently eliminated contenders, Pia Toscano and Paul McDonald. The women paraded out first and mostly sounded horrible, but they put plenty of attitude into the performance. Paul McDonald walked out on stage to join them wearing his embellished, sparkling black suit. You can see it all in the video at the top.

Emma Stone is leaving upbeat teen films behind her, and it looks like she’ll be putting some impressive acting chops on display in The Help. The touching film is adapted from the book of the same name, a heart-wrenching portrait of racial tensions in 1960s Mississippi.
But before you completely write it off as a chick flick, watch the trailer above and you’ll see why we think Stone’s star is going to start shining. Bryce Dallas Howard co-stars as a racist housewife, and she's sure to make a fantastic villain.
