Kate Moss Detoxing in Turkey

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Health & Beauty, Models, Rumors,

Kate MossKate Moss is reportedly detoxing in Turkey.

The supermodel - often pictured smoking or enjoying a glass of champagne - has reportedly been surviving on juice, fresh herbs, and daily enemas as part of her health kick. The 39-year-old is reportedly on a week long program in the city of Bodrum which also includes pilates, yoga and stretching sessions.

The LifeCo detox program costs $5,400 and has also been helping Kate to lose weight, with her reportedly shedding more then two kilos.

"Kate has detoxed here before and lost three-a-half kilos [about 8 pounds] - she absolutely loved it. She really enjoys being healthy, eating clean and not drinking, and while the gym is not her natural calling, she does enjoy the odd spot of yoga. Kate feels mentally and physically cleansed, and reckons her skin and eyes look much brighter and clearer already," a source said.

The Case of Batman vs. Batman

The Dark Knight

Oh, the comedians are going to have a field day with this. In a just-strange-enough-to-work, headline-grabbing lawsuit, Batman will face off against the minds behind . But will the case ever see the inside of a courtroom?

Batman isn’t just a comic book character who first appeared on the scene in 1939 (then called the Bat-man), it’s also an oil-producing town in Turkey. Batman has been refining the fuel since 1955 and boasts Turkey’s oldest refinery. But now, the issue of name infringement has been raised.

Huseyin Kalkan, mayor of Batman, has legally filed suit against Christopher Nolan (who directed The Dark Knight) and Warner Bros. in hopes of gaining a cut of royalties from the film (sure, aren’t there enough to go around?).

Pakistan Ban of YouTube Causes Blackout

YouTube logoPakistan has decided to block YouTube from its country’s usage because of offensive Islamic content. In fact, its efforts have been blamed for the site’s Sunday two hour blackout. Owner Google claims that it was because of “erroneous internet protocols sourced” from Pakistan Telecom and its PCCW Internet provider. Anyone trying to access the site was diverted to another address. Unfortunately, other countries also felt the effect until YouTube was notified of the circumstances. Pakistan joins Turkey in its censorship, and although Thailand recently lifted its ban, some content is still blocked.

Eating Turkey May Involve Trust Issues

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Science,

If you have already had your post-Thanksgiving nap, you might be interested to know that the molecule tryptophan may have another use besides making you nod off. Researchers from Oxford University say that the chemical precursor to serotonin may also induce trust. Volunteers were given a drink that depleted their tryptophan. Although the final results are not in from the experiments, they found that when they reduced it, the chemical also lowered “the reward value of cooperating.” We just wonder why every family Thanksgiving feast we have ever attended has ended in a tussle.

(Happy Turkey Day!)
