peripherals in it, just press the button and Homey spins around in his chair yelling “Woo Hoo!”. Classic! A must-have for the Homer fanatic. The base is 4” in diameter, and the hub is 5.5” tall. We love it, but think it’s a little pricey at $48 USD. But that probably won’t matter to the most hardcore “Simpsons” fans.

YouTube Haven for Striking Writers

It looks like the Writers Strike will keep going for a while, but we have found that you just can’t keep a good writer down. Those from “The Office” produce “The Office is Closed,” and fans, like those for John Stewart and Stephen Colbert, offer pleas to settle. There are even viral spoofs, such as this one by National Lampoon. Our favorite has to be by the writers of The Simpsons, who come out of their animated closet. How ironic that the very medium they are fighting over has in fact become the battlefield.
Skinner and Krabapple: Caught!

There are many reasons to love The Simpsons (although this writer was slightly disappointed with the big screen version). While the show is filled with broad strokes of humor, what makes it so special are the nuances of the characters. This is exemplified by the above action figure, aptly called “Hot for Teacher”, which captures Miss Krabapple and Principal Skinner, well, in action. Skinner’s look of horror—countered by Krabapple’s complete disdain—is absolutely dead-on. We can only imagine the look on Groundskeeper Willie’s face, as we’re assuming he’s the unfortunate one who opened the door.

The Simpsons Movie Limited Edition Soundtrack “Doh”-nut

What is it about the last Friday of the month that inspires nationwide frenzy and anticipation? On June 26 it was the iPhone’s debut, this July 27 it’s “The Simpsons Movie”. The past few weeks have been heaven for fans of the series, with a publicity juggernaut that includes turning 7-Eleven’s into exact Kwik-E-Mart replicas and even being able to Simpsonize yourself online. Now comes the Limited Edition soundtrack, which is not only scored by prolific Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer, but is packaged in a Homer-tastic plastic donut with pink frosting and sprinkles. We absolutely love it. They’re currently available for pre-order on Amazon.com for $21 USD, and will ship July 31. We highly suspect this one will sell out fast.

a fan of “The Simpsons”, there is no better way to wake up than with Homer Simpson, sporting a beer and a smile.
