Mr. Jones Tengu All Stars

Our bud Mr. Jones has announced 3 new Tengus that come complete with hideous hair and character stickers. Available in the form of Rotten, Stardust and Woodstock, each All Star bops to the beat like the original Tengu, is compatible with both PC and Mac, and is plug and play from your USB port. The precocious Tengus also come with their own USB cables and have a price of GBP 25.00 (~$41.00) apiece.

MJW New Decider Watch

Decider Watch Crispin Jones, of the MJW watches and the Tengu, has a new design. The New Decider helps you make those split second choices. When someone asks you a question, simply look at the magnified dial for a yes/no answer. While it may not be the correct answer, you can always reinforce it by rechecking the watch (or blaming it.) The Decider is only available in a Special Edition of 100 with its number engraved on the back of the case for $145.00.

USB Tengu Gets a Makeover

Tengu Remember Tengu, the USB toy/buddy that reacts to sound? Mr. Jones recently contacted us to let you know that there is now an updated version with five new faces, now at a price of £19.95 ($30.00.) He is offering free shipping during December when you add in the code “TENGU-08.” There is also a special edition Wooden Tengu for £30 (~$45.00,) but be quick as there are only a few available.

Monty the Tengu Review

Monty the Tengu Creator Crispin Jones was kind enough to send us a Tengu, knowing that no one can ever have enough friends, even if they are electronic ones. We nicknamed ours Monty, and from the time we plugged him into the USB port, he was instantly on, albeit asleep. No software is needed to get him to do his thing. We have a full review and video of our 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 x 1/2-inch buddy awake after the jump.

Tengu, Your New Best Friend

Hook up Mr. Jones’ Tengu to your USB port and he will light up and lip sync to music, voices or any other noise you prefer with no additional software. He features different expressions, depending on what he spits out, and goes to sleep when there is nothing to talk or sing about. He also responds to loud noises and interference by outside sources such as you blowing on him. tengu Sometimes, sitting at my desk all alone at night, I wish I had some company. Someone I can interact with for a moment, then get back to work. Someone who doesn’t demand all of my attention, just a little diversion to clear my head. I do believe I have found that someone, and Tengu is his/her/it’s name.

A little buddy to plug into a USB port, Tengu reacts to sound. It lip syncs to everything from the music playing in the room to TV to the dog’s bark. Granted, there’s a little bit of a learning curve when it comes to things like music and voices, but as we all have witnessed, it seems everyone has a little bit of a learning curve when it comes to things like that.
