Take a look at Westinghouse Digital’s 40-inch 1080p Combo. The VK-40F580D HDTV has an optimal resolution of 1920 x 1080 with 16.7 million colors, an integrated front slot load DVD player, preset and custom video modes, and 2 HDMI inputs. It also features their Pixel Direct tech and SpineDesign side connectors. We actually caught a couple of Westinghouse’s displays recently and were pleasantly surprised that the company has its handle on something other than refrigerators.

Armani LCD HDTV

Designer Giorgio Armani isn’t satisfied with a mere cell phone that features his name. He and Samsung presented his premium 120Hz full LCD HDTV at the Milan International Furniture Fair going on this week. Claiming that the inspiration came from his new 2008/09 Armani/Casa Home Furnishings Collection, the television comes in 46 and 52-inch models. Apparently his Brahms tea table was specifically designed to hold the TV. No price is available as yet, but we are still figuring out which came first, the TV or the table?

Adobe Launches Media Player

Today Adobe launched its new Media Player for the masses. With the AMP you can stream and download from their partners, such as MTV or Comedy Central. You can customize it to your taste as long as there is an RSS feed and has Flash or MPEG-4. You can also track and download episodes automatically and manage your videos for watching at your leisure whether you are on or off line. Fortunately, everything you acquire on the Air-based software is free and/or ad supported. Download the AMP from their site and enjoy!

Now that we have given you PC Mag’s suggestions for Superbowl Sunday, which HDTVs are actually the public’s choice? According to Amazon, these are their top sellers (with prices):

PC Mag Suggests HDTVs

While we were pondering the thought of purchasing our own HDTV for Superbowl Sunday plant, we found that PC mag had given their top choices, giving us a suggestion list that was at least a start. Here are their choices:

Bleeding Edge TV 192: SanDisk Sansa TakeTV Setup

So, a few days ago, we hit you with our TakeTV unboxing video, where we showed you everything that was inside the SanDisk Sansa TakeTV package. Today we wanted to follow it up and show you how you go about setting the thing up, just to prove that it really is as simple as it looks. We hook up the TakeTV device to our Samsing LCD HDTV in under a minute.
Stay tuned - we will have another video up in a couple of days that shows the actual usage of the device - putting videos on it, playing them through the dock, etc.
Microsoft Announces TV, Movie Downloads For Xbox Live

Rumors recently surfaced that Microsoft was going to make movie downloads available over Xbox Live. Today, Microsoft confirmed those rumors, announcing that they would make television episode downloads and movie rentals available through the Xbox Live Marketplace. The first hints that a rental service was in the offering was the presence of a new expiration flag on multimedia downloads from the Live service. Providers lining up to offer content on Xbox Live include CBS, MTV, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon. Movie content providers include Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and Paramount Pictures. Television content will be download to own, and movie content will be download to rent over the service. The offering will officially launch on November 22nd, the anniversary of the Xbox 360 in the United States. No mention of availability in multiple regions was made, and costs were not released, but one would expect that Microsoft would offer prices that are competitive with Apples iTunes store. Now, however, the once “spacious” 20 GB hard drive is starting to seem rather small to support downloadable HD content.

Playstation 3 Television Commercials Appear

It looks like Sony’s television advertising campaign has started to hit the airwaves, and of course the ad has been uploaded online. It would be too straightforward for Sony to show any gameplay video at this point, so gamers get treated to an abstract commercial promising that “the wait is over” and the launch date of November 17th. Now, for most people, the wait really won’t be over on launch day given the small quantities of the console that Sony is shipping, but the ad at least offers hope for thirteen-year old kids on rooftops across America.
