Hey, Xbox 360 owners, you ready to go head-to-head with the Gear Live crew? If you’d been wondering when you would have the opportunity to obliterate us (yeah right!) in a fighting game, then look no further than this tonight’s Xbox Live Community Playdate. Why’s that, you ask? Because for the first time, Gear Live hosts the Community Playdate, and we aren’t messing around. We are bringing our A-game and challenging the community to one-on-one competition in Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. Download the game, and then send an invite to any of the following Gamertags this evening between the hours of 8-11 PM EST (5-8PM PST):

Ha-freaking-doken: Street Fighter IV launches February 17th

We hope you guys are as ready as we are for this one, as Capcom has finally announced the release date for Street Fighter IV. You’ll be able to pick up your copy for the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 on February 17th here in North America, and February 20th if you are in Europe. We’ve been waiting for this game for the better part of a decade, so you can bet we’re stoked.
We also find it mildly amusing that in the announcement, Capcom urges people to pick up Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, which is supposed to be available sometime this month, and yet, has no definitive release date to speak of.

Let’s hope this is a sign that the game is close to release (hey, they said November!). Above you’ll find the trailer for Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. While the music isn’t quite what we would think would get people pumped for the game, you can’t say that the graphics aren’t off the hook. This one will be available on Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Store later this month. Who’s with me on picking this one up the day it becomes available?
E3 2008: Street Fighter IV first look

During E3 2008, we got the opportunity to chat with CAPCOM‘s Seth Killian about the much anticipated Street Fighter IV. Seth gives us some insight into the development of the next generation of Street Fighter, and then demos a few of the new characters for us, our favorite being El Fuerte, the luchador chef. He shows off some of the super moves, the 2D/3D play mechanics, and let’s us know which characters he uses to win tournaments. We also talk to Seth about the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade and PSN title, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.
We are definitely looking forward to getting our hands on Street FIghter IV for an extended period of time.
