Adam Lambert may have lost out to Kris Allen, but he’ll somehow find the way to survive 2012.
In “Time for Miracles,” a song from the upcoming disaster movie, the American Idol finalist reminds us that there’s never a wrong time to sing a power ballad. In fact, you should let one out before the rest of the world comes crashing down on you.
The film’s soundtrack is just one of two CDs Adam’s name will be attached to next month. For Your Entertainment, a solo album that will include a track written by Lady Gaga, will debut on November 23.

Jessica Biel Sings for Easy Virtue Soundtrack
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Videos,
We already know that Justin Timberlake can sing, dance and act—but does his girlfriend have more than one talent?
Later this summer, Jessica Biel will be taking a break from the small screen to test out her chops in a smaller forum. “I auditioned for a summer production of Guys and Dolls at the Hollywood Bowl. I thought, ‘Well, I’m not a soprano anymore, but I guess I’ll go in for it.’ I literally walked in and said, ‘I can do this song but we’re going to have to drop it down a few notes.’ Actually, I did pretty well and I got the part of Sandy, which I’ll be performing later this summer,” Biel told Parade.

Twilight Soundtrack Tops Music Charts
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: The Charts, Soundtracks,
The second phase of Twilight domination is officially complete.
Now that we’re just eight days away from the big-screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s novel, it’s becoming increasingly impossible to avoid anything with Robert Pattinson’s face on it. The mania over the best-selling book has inspired collector’s edition magazine covers (EW), news packages (Nightline) and sight-seeing tours (Forks, WA). It’s even evolved into a #1 album.
After two turns at the top of the charts, AC/DC’s Black Ice was just dethroned by the soundtrack for the vampire-themed movie. Although Twilight is now the third soundtrack this year to reach #1 (following Juno and Mamma Mia!), it’s the only one since 2006’s Sing-a-Longs and Lullabies for Curious George to debut there.
Twilight - which includes tracks from Linkin Park, Muse and Paramore - sold 165,000 units last week. AC/DC came in second with 160,000 while High School Musical 3 came in third with 110,000.

Listen to Jack White and Alicia Keys’ New Bond Song
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Columbia Pictures, MGM, Action, Sequels,
As we mentioned back in July, musicians Jack White and Alicia Keys have teamed up for the latest Bond song. “Another Way to Die” - written by the White Stripes singer - is the first 007 track performed as a duet.
Although it was once believed Amy Winehouse would be the next Bond performer, her personal troubles prevented that project from ever coming together.
The Quantum of Solace soundtrack will hit the shelves on October 28. The movie will then arrive in theaters on November 14.
Metallica’s Death Magnetic Come to Guitar Hero III This Friday
Posted by Alex Lifschitz Categories: Activision, Downloadable Content, Music, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Network, Xbox 360, Xbox Live Marketplace,
If you’re keen on the ways of the music world, you may be interested: Metallica’s new album, Death Magnetic, will be released in its entirety on Guitar Hero III this friday. It’ll also have full compatibility with the upcoming Guitar Hero: World Tour on all instruments, and will feature two exclusive renditions of the song “Suicide and Redemption” featuring extended solos. It’ll cost $17.99 on PSN or 1440 MS Points, though I would hope they might offer it for free to people who blew money on St. Anger. If you haven’t heard the new songs yet, they’re actually a pretty good throwback to the “...And Justice For All” days, though perhaps not to the stuff they wrote before bassist Cliff Burton succumbed to a bad case of being crushed by a tour bus. Check out the full press release after the break.

Sing-Along Mamma Mia Coming to Theaters
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Universal, Musicals, Upcoming Releases,
UPDATE: You can find info on the selected theaters here.
If you’ve been driving your family crazy with the Mamma Mia! soundtrack, you may get an opportunity to belt your heart out with other ABBA fanatics.
This Labor Day weekend, Universal will deliver a special version of the Meryl Streep movie to select cities. Mamma Mia! The Sing-Along Edition‘s subtitled lyrics will allow audiences to recite the words they probably all know by now.
Interestingly, this same marketing ploy was implemented by New Line last year during Hairspray‘s record-breaking run. As of last weekend, Mamma Mia! was only $2 million away ($117 million) from surpassing the 2007 film on the highest-grossing movie musicals list.
The Sing-Along Edition opens in limited release on August 29.

What film accomplishment do Jack White, Alicia Keys, Madonna and Carly Simon all have in common? Their names have all been etched in 007 history.
For Quantum of Solace, the White Stripes musician will be pair with Keys to deliver their version of a Bond theme song. Jack
White will produce and play drums on ‘Another Way to Die,’ a song he also wrote. Meanwhile, the Smokin’ Aces star will lend her vocals to the track.
This will be the first time two artists have worked jointly on a tune for one of the installments.
The soundtrack for Quantum of Solace will be available on Oct. 28, just over a week before the film’s release on November 7.

‘Dewey Cox’: Your Best Holiday Movie Choice
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Columbia Pictures, Music, Satire, Comedy, New Releases,
You could go to the theaters this holiday season and be inundated with biological fallout, CGI creatures that exist solely in fokelore, and lighthearted family comedies. Or, you could get real laughs without the holiday hooplah. You can walk hard with Dewey Cox.
A musical parody, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story is already getting excellent reviews, all of which applaud the script’s funniness. The film follows Dewey through the decades as he tries to build his recording career. Music-themed biopics Walk the Line and Ray are both parodied in the film, which features its own fun soundtrack. Walk Hard will make audiences laugh hard, just what’s called for in a year filled with movies about war, death, and a wild-looking Dustin Hoffman pretending to be magical.

The Simpsons Movie Limited Edition Soundtrack “Doh”-nut
Posted by Lolita Beckwith Categories: Movies, Music,
What is it about the last Friday of the month that inspires nationwide frenzy and anticipation? On June 26 it was the iPhone’s debut, this July 27 it’s “The Simpsons Movie”. The past few weeks have been heaven for fans of the series, with a publicity juggernaut that includes turning 7-Eleven’s into exact Kwik-E-Mart replicas and even being able to Simpsonize yourself online. Now comes the Limited Edition soundtrack, which is not only scored by prolific Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer, but is packaged in a Homer-tastic plastic donut with pink frosting and sprinkles. We absolutely love it. They’re currently available for pre-order on Amazon.com for $21 USD, and will ship July 31. We highly suspect this one will sell out fast.
