Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker launches at $199

It's not just the Beats Executive on-ear headphones that are new from Beats Audio, as the company has also released it's own portable Bluetooth speaker: the Beats Pill. Yes, it's a pill-shaped speaker, likely a play on the fact that it's part of the Beats by Dr. Dre line, and doctors prescribe pills. Anyhow, cheesy concept aside, the Pill brings 12 watts of power across four 1-inch drivers into it's contoured frame, made up of metal grilles and soft-touch plastic. The rechargeable battery can pump out up to 7.5 hours of tunes, and offers NFC support for easy pairing with Bluetooth devices that support the standard (including the upcoming Lumia 920, HTC devices, and all Android Jelly Bean NFC smartphones--the iPhone doesn't have NFC support at this time.) A microphone is also built-in, allowing the Pill to also work as a speakerphone, and a physical audio input lets you connect devices that don't support Bluetooth as well. We give you our review of the Jawbone JAMBOX in this episode. The JAMBOX is a wireless Bluetooth speaker that you can use with smartphones, tablets, and anything else that can stream audio or phone calls over Bluetooth. It also has an aux in, so that you can use it with non-Bluetooth devices as well. It's light and portable too! Take a look in this episode. We give you a look at Monster's Inspiration Headphones in our chat with Noel Lee. This is Monster's first noise-canceling over-ear headphone. The Inspiration headphones are fashionable, and will be available in black, white, and a limited edition silver color. The headbands are interchangeable if you don't like any of those colors. Expect to pay $279 for a pair of Inspiration over-ears when they begin shipping this spring. This was recorded at CES 2012.

HTC strikes exclusive deal with Beats Audio, coming to HTC phones

HTC Beats Audio Phones

HTC has announced a strategic investment and partnership with Beats Electronics, with the goal of bringing high-quality sound to HTC phones.

HTC did not disclose the amount of the investment, which AllThingsD pegged at $300 million. HTC had previously announced an "major news announcement" for Friday, scheduled for 8:30 AM in Los Angeles.

In a separate statement, however, HTC said that a "line of HTC devices integrated with Beats sound innovations would be launched this fall". Beats Electronics is most known for its "Beats by Dr. Dre" brand, with a partnership with the iconic rapper and producer.
