Hop-on 1801We already introduced you to Hop-on’s disposable phone, and it seems they have done it again with their inexpensive HOP1800 series smartphones. Their 1801 features a GSM tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz, a 2.5-inch QVGA 320 x 240 262K TFT touchscreen, and a CMOS cam with 2 Mpixels. At a size of 116 x 64 x 14mm, it also has an external Micro SD card memory slot and Midi 64 polyphonic ring tones.

The Chute, created by Industrial Designer Michael Laut, works like any other phone but is made of bamboo, which is not only biodegradable, but lighter and stronger than plastic. It probably won’t dent or crack if you drop it and if a friendly panda comes strolling by and looks hungry, perhaps he/she would appreciate the green gift.
