Jonah Hill Joins Django Unchained

Jonah HillJonah Hill has signed up for 'Django Unchained'.

The 21 Jump Street star previously turned down a role in the spaghetti western movie - which will be directed by Quentin Tarantino - due to scheduling conflicts but he is now able to play a different character, who is as yet unknown, in the film.

Jonah rejected the role of Scotty Harmony, who loses the titular character Django's (Jamie Foxx) slave wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) to evil plantation owner Calvin Candie - who is played by Leonardo DiCaprio - which results in him being involved in a showdown with the slave-turned-bounty hunter.

The drama film focuses on Django's quest to recover his wife from Calvin - who runs club Candyland, where his spouse and other female slaves are exploited as sex objects - and Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz and James Russo have also signed up for the motion picture.

Jack Osbourne Diagnosed With MS

Jack OsbourneJack Osbourne has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

The 26-year-old TV star - the son of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne - and his fiancee Lisa Stelly welcomed their first child, Pearl, in April and Jack revealed getting the diagnosis two weeks after her birth left him devastated.

"While I was waiting for the final results, I got really, really angry. The timing was so bad. I'd just had a baby, work was going great - I kept thinking, 'Why now?' Then I got really sad for about two days, and after that I realized, being angry and upset is not going to do anything at this point - if anything it's only going to make it worse. 'Adapt and overcome' is my new motto," he said.

Jack discovered his condition when he lost 60 per cent of the sight in his right eye. MS is an autoimmune disease which affects the central nervous system through the brain and spinal cord and people with the illness show symptoms with a change in their balance, vision and thought processes.

Microsoft announces Surface tablet

Microosft Surface Tablet

The rumor mill was calling for a new Microsoft tablet to be announced today, and thats exactly what happened. Just a few minutes ago, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer unveiled the Microsoft Surface tablet. The Microsoft Surface is a companion to Windows 8, with Microsoft saying that it's "a tablet that's a great PC, and a PC that's a great tablet." The hardware is 9.3mm thin with edges beveled at 22 degrees. The casing is all magnesium, which is a first for a computer, making the Surface weigh in at 1.5 pounds. Oh, and it's also got a 10.6-inch display, so it's here to compete with the big boys. As you'd expect, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are present, as is a built-in kickstand, Gorilla Glass, and an amazingly thin 3mm cover that also doubles as a keyboard for touch typing.

Surface will be available in the model we just detailed, as well as a Pro model that supports a higher resolution display. It's got the same chassis, same kickstand, and supports the same accessories, but this model wuns full Windows 8 Pro rather than just Windows RT. It also supports digital ink by way of a stylus. When the Surface detects the pen, it stops accepting touch input, making it easy to write on. The upgraded model also has a DisplayPort, allowing you to plug it in to a larger monitor, this giving you the regular, full PC experience.

Dolce & Gabbana to Launch Children’s Collection

Stefano Gabbana and Domenico DolceDolce & Gabbana will launch its first ever childrenswear collection next month.

The Italian design duo - made up of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana - say the line, which is aimed at newborns to 10-year-olds, will be just as stylish as their mainline as it has great importance to them.

"I didn't know much about this world, but Domenico's brother has three children aged two to six. The line is conceived as a further expansion of the Dolce & Gabbana world, in terms of product, design content, craftsmanship, function and positioning. This is an homage to Italy and to our tradition. It's part of our culture and marks one of the most important moments in our lives," Stefano said.

The collection will include daywear, innerwear, beachwear, accessories and footwear and the designers say they sought advice from mother as they know it needed to be practical as well as stylish.

"We interviewed all the mothers because the collection must be practica. We learned a lot, plenty of details. For example, it's better to have sleeveless onesies and freedom of movement - kids don't want to feel too constricted," Domenico said.

Tom Cruise Made ‘Rock of Ages’ For His Family

Tom Cruise in Rock of AgesTom Cruise wanted to film Rock Of Ages because his family loves musicals.

The Mission Impossible actor - who plays an egotistical 80s rock legend called Stacee Jaxx in his latest film - has revealed he was pushed into the role by wife Katie Holmes and six-year-old daughter Suri because they are huge fans of musicals.

"Kate sings and dances and we kind of went through the history of musicals together. And Suri loves Hairspray. I have watched it 15 times with her," he said.

Tom, 49, had five hours of vocal coaching and three hours of dance lessons per day, as well as having to learn the guitar in order to prepare for the demanding role. "I needed to find out if I could really sing. Then I had to learn how to play guitar. I'm very good at air guitar and air drums, but I had never played an actual guitar. I needed to find my own Stacee Jaxx. It was like learning a new sport," he explained.

Weekend Reading: Ray Bradbury, Alex Toth and Before Watchmen

Fahrenheit 451The countdown to San Diego has begun. You can tell because Mark Evanier is starting to post his great stories about San Diego cons of the past.

I’ve really been enjoying his tales of the con that involve Ray Bradbury and Julie Schwartz (and MAD Magazine’s Al Feldstein). One of the things that’s being revealed is that Julie, a longtime DC Comics editor and later company ambassador, doesn’t come across as a likeable guy.

This will not come as a surprise to anyone who’s read about Evan Dorkin’s repeatedly unpleasant encounters with Schwartz.

Or to people who are familiar with Colleen Doran.

Speaking of Ray Bradbury, Frederik Pohl remembers his friend of 75 years.

Hugh Jackman and his sonHugh Jackman's son wishes his dad wasn't famous.

The X-Men actor admits 12-year-old Oscar is uncomfortable when his famous father gets stopped in the street, but the youngster occasionally uses his dad's stardom to his advantage.

"My son is 12 and he just wants me to be dad. He doesn't want me to be famous. He doesn't like when people come up to me on the street. He would much prefer if nobody knew who I was. Although, I've seen him in social situations when he didn't think I was listening, and he once said to a girl, 'Well, my dad is Wolverine.' So when it came to try to talk to this girl, apparently it came in handy!" said Hugh, who also has six-year-old daughter Ava with wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

The Australian actor is a family man and cherishes the "everyday moments" spent with his loved ones more than anything:
