Beyonce Bans Press from Snapping Photos on Tour
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Artist News, Concerts / Tours, Gossip, Performances, Pop, R&B / Soul,
Apparently, it is possible to capture unflattering photos of Beyonce.
The singer has banned all press photographers - save for her approved personal photographer Frank Micelotta - from taking any photos of her while performing on her latest tour, The Mrs. Carter Show.
The much buzzed-about action comes after unflattering photos of the 31 year-old surfaced online from her performance at this year's Super Bowl (right) - something she has vowed to prevent from occurring in the future with the new photographer ban.
Though she can stop press photographers, who's to say there won't be an audience member snapping up bad photos of her with an iPhone? In a world where photos can be taken and uploaded to the internet in moments, it's quite unrealistic to believe in preventing any unfavorable pictures. Perhaps the best route she can take is to learn how to control her extreme grimacing while performing.
The North American leg of The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour arrives at the end of June.

Hulu to offer more original content for 2012
Posted by Andrey Malskiy Categories: Corporate News, Home Entertainment, Internet,
Network and cable TV has been the primary source for new sitcoms and shows, historically. Now, with the adaptation of the internet, that is slowly changing. What started as a mere hub used to catch up on television shows, Hulu is now expanding into producing original, first-run shows on its own.
For those that use Hulu, you may have already known that Hulu had original programing like Battleground, Up to Speed, and A Day in the Life. Hulu’s programing is now expanding to include new shows, titled We Got Next, The Awesomes, Don’t Quit Your Daydream, and Flow.

Is a Writer’s Strike Imminent?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, American Idol, Gossip, News,
It’s been making headlines for months as negotiations continue to drag, but that doesn’t mean the bomb has been completely defused. In fact, it’s ticking louder than ever before. The union representing TV and film writers (the Writers Guild of America) is currently trying to work a deal with the networks and studios (the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers)—unfortunately, things aren’t going well.
Back in 1988 during the famous writers’ walkout, the entertainment industry lost an estimated $500 million when writers refused to produce scripts. Today? A strike would be even more damaging. The current issues up for debate include splitting revenues for new media, and whether reality shows should be unionized. The guild could call for a strike as early as November 1, which would really put a damper on the fall season…and even the mid-season, if things aren’t worked out. As a result, studios have moved up production schedules to shoot as many new episodes as possible, before any work has to stop. Extra script orders are coming in…which isn’t making it any easier for the possibly-striking writers. The good news is that reality shows don’t use writers (at least, that’s the official story), so fan favorites like American Idol should be safe from the threat…but that also means the mid-season could be crammed with reality and re-runs…and not a whole lot more.
